Maybe I was imagining things, but I remember that it was once said that hitting a buzzerbeater or getting a double-double add just a tiny bit to experience gained from the match. If that's true, maybe we could indeed say there is a kind of "future boost", at least in terms of slightly bigger experience (which helps players to play better).

I can confirm reading this. Not sure where is it from, can't find it in the manual. But I certainly do remember that hitting buzzerbeaters give an experience boost (not sure about double-doubles tho, but I do remember they mentioned somewhere along the lines of players being involved in highlights or something, can't quite remember, but buzzerbeaters were the only example given I think. Maybe in one of those "Ask the BB" threads?)

Reward the player... no.

Reward you the manager. yes.
There's a hidden trait of some players being "clutch". Some players are more likely to hit or miss big shots or free throws, in key moments than others despite good looks/etc. And when you notice players hitting those consistently, its an indicator of that "clutch" trait.

I think it still relates to the aggressiveness trait. That aggressive guy would usually try to get the ball during clutch situations and shoot it (it actually happens the whole game not only during end game). If he makes the shot then he's clutch but if he don't you see him as nothing but a foul machine ballhog.

I’ve had guys in past years who were clutch guys. But over course of seasons same guy averaged less than 1 foul per 48. Playing 39.8minutes per game on average.

In my experience aggressive guys tend to foul more always.

You sure those players didn't just have higher level of experience? Iirc experience plays a bigger role in such clutch situations (assuming you define clutch as in the last few minutes of the game)

Yes to how I am defining it.
And yes I am sure about the experience.
Unless sensational experience has the same effect as awful experience.

35+ seasons of BB. And you get bored of doing the same things over and over. And you start to use your scrimmages to experiment and tinker things to try and see if you can understand the GE anymore or not.

Yea so I was wondering if it was actually the direct effect of higher experience levels than having a clutch trait.

I may have started that rumor concerning the buzzerbeater. I was also sure that a BB or an EBW or Juicepats, etc. had mentioned it back around season 2, that a buzzerbeater would give a slight exp boost. But I tried searching for it a year or two ago and found nothing, not even a comment replying to someone else making a suggestion about it.

I doubt it. as the guy with Sensational experience. did not hit the shots, but put up almost identical box scores. as the guy with awful experience did.

players found via tl. same builds (sub-levels unknown so impossible to tell on that), but identical looking builds except for experience and age. then played in scrimmages in same O, vs same opponent, vs same member of opponent, each time, for controlled settings.

there's definitely a separate clutch trait to the aggressiveness trait.

Not sure what box scores gotta do with this, but I thought we're talking about clutch? Shouldn't only stats in the last 5 minutes of a close game be counted?
