Hi mbbayless,

yes, the problem is that! :| If nobody makes a proposal I will be triple harmed:
- 3% of 150k
plus
- reset days in my team and I think it may affect merchandising and sponsors
plus
- 60% tax if I put him on market again

wonderful!

Hello Saimionas,

Thank you for your opinion it added a lot to what I reported.
I don't have your your financial freedom but I'm happy for you!
And also if money isn't a problem to you please proactively solve this situation and bid my player ;)

Thanks for sharing you episode and I so sad to hear that no one could helped fixing that.
In my case I don't even know how it whappened, I don't know if I double typed "Enter" key, if it was a refresh bug or something else... I just know that it was immediatly after I listed the player.

Hello eumariogomes,

After I read your message I completely agree with you.

Doesn't make any sense that this is possible to happen, either if it is to manipulate the market or to be able to change someone's mind to keep the player, just because this doesn't approach to a real life basketball team management situation (in case this is the purpose of BuzzerBeater).

As for someone to be able to keep the player after putting him on the market list, in my opinion it would be better if that page had a button "Take player of the market" (example). With this, it could be possible to take the player from the market, you wouldn't lose any money that you bid on him and your problem would be solved.

Best regards,
Barrote.

Hi Barrote,

Actually I liked your point. I also though about another thing that can add a little robustness to your proposal. I think that besides the button it makes sense to create some penalty to any user that want to press that button.

When we sell a player we receive only XX% of total value 'cause we must pay taxes. So, if that button ever exists I think it's fare that we got charged with that tax percentage:

Example:
I set on market "Player X" and the last bid was $1 000 000
I will receive 97% and I will pay 3% of that value
So, in case I pressed that button "Take player of the market" I should be charged with 3% of $1M

Note: and of course, we must understand that %'s change according the actual rules.

If your mistake had been to put the player in the market (instead of bidding for him), you would be glad you can buy your own player.

As you may know, listing a player on the market is a two step action, you must set a price, validate the page load and you need to validate again. It's not camparable.

I bid my own player immediately after I listed him and I didn't know how. I don't even try to, that's the point.

Perpete,

I was just brainstorming Barrote's idea and I just suggested some kind of penalty to reinforce his idea. I know that is not fare for someone who made a bid lost that player 'cause someone call the player back, however how can you talk about fairness in this case when you said before that it's OK to bid own players' cause sometimes you may want to make something to raise the bidding rate.

The point here is:
First: I don't know how I bid my own player, I just know that it happened immediately after I listed him.
Second: it don't make sense to allow users to bid own players 'cause it's something that it's not real. Don't happen in any sports management game.
And Third: Listing players is a mandatory two step action where you must define the value, validate and validate again. In my opinion that listing process is strong enough and any mistake or bad decision should be addressed to manager's responsability.

I cannot take responsabilities over what occurred to me 'cause I don't even understand how it happened.
