It depends greatly on the league. If it is a small country and you start in div.3 full of bots or even div.2, everything will work. It would be difficult not to make money even if you try to waste it. But if you are in a country like Spain and you start in div.4 with most real and experienced users, life is much tougher.

In any case, certainly it is a posibility to sell everything and just sit there during two seasons taking advantage of lack of salary floor. You will make A LOT of money that way. But obviously it is boring. Investing in the arena is a sure bet. You can't go wrong doing that.

I would advise to take it easy with training. Most managers lose money through training. They think that they are making money because the players improve. But they don't see the money they give to trainers, the lack of real value improvement for the players, the games lost, the salaries of the trainees and so on. I would bet all managers in this thread advising to train because "it is the most important thing in BB" are in fact losing money. Son don't train until you know what you are doing.

The middle road for new managers would be to buy very cheap players with very low salary and try to win at least to the bots and maybe a few more games and that way slowly learn the game while still having a big weekly superavit. That would be my advise to new managers.

Just checked it out, it seems like you missing a part about how to train players in international level. Thats explains a bit the lack of titles in spanish national teams.

Also, what about how to ask from other coaches to intentionally lose the game so you can have more enthusiasm for the next game but still lose it?

I agree you don't need to reach the final arena before making progress with your team, I have clarified the wording on that section.

I believe this comment (306600.27) was the biggest inspiration for the arena section. From memory I found courtside were often selling out at the start (even after building more and setting it to max price), so my experience did match the advice. I've added a sentence to recommend building the sections that are selling out, as for each new team it will be slightly different and that is the most straightforward way to think about it.

He ain't wrong. Training is what brings you the most money and fun in this game. Also yeah its great to see new players are enjoying this game so much that they blog about it, but calling that a 'guide' is like calling a 4 year olds drawings art.

He is wrong though. Training is s big part but still a part of economy.

Lots of people train but very few of them manage to win a championship while training and expanding/upgrading the arena at the same time.

It's intended as a simple guide for new players to follow so they can avoid major mistakes with their new team, and get started in the right direction while they learn more about the game. It's not a replacement for the manual or the sticky threads in this forum, as they contain much more detail and cover areas this guide does not.

This is mostly advice I collected in my first season as I went about learning the game.

How about instead of calling it a Guide... Work at it just Like a Diary for your Team? Then I think no one can criticize your hard work... and probably by doing that you will be more confident in giving your advice and voice out your opinions. Even though you are what we can say "not having enough experience" you can still enjoy writing/posting your work in a more suitable light.

We all believe that the game is so good that someone needs to create a Guide for it... I think E.B.W. and BB_Justin can work something out to help us... I just heard that E.B.W. just returned in-game with a Greate Idea in mind...
