TOP FIVE RANKINGS
With the Scorchers’ top defense (41.83PP) limiting other teams by almost 10 points less than the next best defensive team Merkats Nest (51.66PP) while also having the top offense (101PP) they are the early top ranked team. Scorchers top ranking is only by a small margin over BC Rezervas 2 who holds the second spot after an impressive win over Meekats Nest in game two of the season. BS Rez only lost by 12 points to Scorchers to start the season, making them a close second place by only a small margin.
With the top three teams being in the Great 8, the fourth spot goes to Bathalaz only because their defense has allowed 21.33PP more than Merkats. Bathalaz star backcourt tandem of Timm and Guardamano will likely continue to improve throughout the season and are the early favorites to come out of the Big 8 playoffs for the championship. Don’t be surprised to see Bathalaz overtake Merkats for the third spot soon. Sitting in a huge arena with likely considerable money in the bank based on transfer history, they are only a couple moves away from making some major noise and overtaking first easily. They are the early team to watch the most.
