Hello everyone,

first of all happy to be back.
my primary objective will be the training of our young Luxembourgers, and with the hope of a little maintenance as well.

regarding the Celestia player I am disappointed with the potential because all I can tell you is that our country has never drafted this kind of profile, even if my Breda is close.

I wish you all a good season.

To my knowledge, OD minimally trains HA and DR (about 20 training session for a single pop, assuming 18 year old prospect, height 201cm + lvl5 trainer). PA trains HA and DR at a rate of 6-7 sessions per pop for an 18 yr old.

OD has an elastic effect on PA and HA(i also believe on JR but some people contest this). DR pulls heavily OD and a bit less on HA. HA has an elastic effect on PA as well. But PA itself has no elastic effect on any skill.

For a defensive player I would train:
2 full seasons 1v1 forwards
2 seasons OD
1 season ID
1 season SB
2 seasons RB
1 season ID
1 season SB
2 seasons PA

I'd only recommend this type of training if all of your players are defensively oriented and also having good passing skills.

Otherwise:
1 season1v1 forwards
1 season OD
Half a season 1v1 forwards, half a season JS forwards
1 season ID
1 season RB
1 season SB
1 season IS
1 season ID
1 season IS
2-3 seasons PA

He’ll shoot more, but suprisingly FG% don’t suffer as much as one would assume. Bad shots or shot selections or hidden aggressiveness traits will always happen. It really depends on your team composition and the choices you make.

I purposefully didn’t go into much detail with my explanations because this is the way I would train this player, and not how he should actually be trained. I’m very wary with the incoming PA JR OD SB changes and their implications on potential skill and salary impact. Very difficult to create a long training regiment if the whole game engine can change within 1-3 seasons.

Also in the current game iteration, I’m one of those people that openly dislike SB, despite knowing how impactful it is. I wouldn’t train it until 19, 14-15 perhaps max. Besides, buzzer managers salary formula is flawed in the higher TSP distributions. I mean, you could technically forego the 2 seasons of 1v1 training and just do HA instead for one season, and shift all other training goals one season earlier. You’ll have increased flow stats at the expense of offensive PF ratings and some missed out OD pops.

And if we manage to have one PF with 15 passing only, he would still be highest PA in Luxembourg LOL.

Besides, he already starts with JS at 10 so might as well make some use of it via a more offensive build, he already has godly pre-requisites, and some skills ''consume'' less cap-potential (and salary!) if you train out-of.position skills first. Why do you have so many coaches that train ID and IS on their guards? Because it takes away less cap-space and almost doesn't increase salary, its crazy. How did I manage to have Brian and Karel with below 80k salary for almost 4 seasons? Because I trained those weird skills in that time period, and proportionally to their salaries, they were hyper-efficient.

This will all change soon if one were to believe the frantic forum posts and statements.

In our case, Luxembourg doesn't always have the best drafts or potentials so we have to make due with what we have, and this guy can potentially surpass my former golden child Poulain in the future, so why not just go balls deep in and just create an offensive monster?
(I'd like the idea of an effective defensive oriented player in other circumstances though).

The un-announced revenue changes haunt me to this day still.
