Here we go. the preview for the season.
I'm starting with the Blue side:
1) Beerschot AC
Salary: 596452$ per week
Reason: About 1/3rd is all centered into Filip Klichowski, the player who dragged our U21 to a world cup victory. He is an exceptional player, with some pretty clear weaknesses. I'm unsure what Beerschot intends to do with him, but there shouldn't be any team in II that can exploit his weaknesses. With such a monster, he could easely play Iso, but you can't go 2-3 zone since he's still got capable enough shooters to go outside and mess with a 2-3 zone. However, considering the age of his squad, it's promote or rebuild completely. They've done it before, can they do it again will be the question. The main concern tho is if Flip Klichowski gets a big injury, cause then that will have consequences...
2) Pongo Squad
Salary: 467 154$ per week
Reason: it feels like Pongo has done the necessairy training he's set out to do. He had a squad that was in transition, but now he's back and should be ready to claim his spot in the PO gauntlet on the blue side. Truth be told, he looks really strong and i've have him as my dark horse for the season. He's got multiple players and might be the one team that can stand up to the strength of Beerschot's absolute monster!
3) TumaSStars
Salary: 412 488$ per week
Reason: It's a coin toss between TumaS and BP, but Tumas beats it out. Slightely better starting 5, but the bench isn't as deep as BP. However, it feels like it's TumasStars season this time around. Just a shame that there is an absolute monster of a player that will be going for the first spot.
4) Basketcats Poperinge
Salary: 459 175$ per week
Reason: A good all round team, with an aging squad. BP has done some minor tinkering to his squad, having sold off some youth to get a 30y old 45k bigman to come in. They'll be in a prime spot to capitalise on any mistakes made by any other contender. Expect another solid season from the gold standard in II.2
