You can always left your interest in YA and deal with one team, if you dont like it at all you dont even need to start YA, and you can invest your money in some other thing. That would be just an advantage in this game!

in this case you should care of, that the players of the ya don't generate money for they owners - so that you normally don't get your investment back.

Else you are forced indirect to do so, that you didn't have an disadvantage of it.

But i think the main argument is, BB is orientated on NBA and not of the European basketball - and their is a drafting system and no youth teams.

Ok... I must say once again ~> HT do the same thing, and it's work perfectly!
If you have time, if you wanna to invest in YA, if you have little luck... you will get your investment back. And that will be just little price for your effort, AND BIG PLEASURE! :)
Also...I think that players from YA should be the same like players from draft that we now have (max skill=7). And players like that have been selling for around 20k (if you are lucky you can get player and sell for 500k...but that is very VERY rarely). That is not big advantage, and "busy" players will be not forced to do so :P

Well in NBA draft 1st round players are top lvl players and they play in start lineups. Usually 1st, 2nd...3th...4th... player from draft play All Star match too!
In this game, in my league (top lvl league), almost all draft players are fired, or sold for less than 20k! At least noone of them play league game!

So in NBA draft is way for getting good and solid players who will strength your team. In BB draft mean getting youth players that will become solid players for at least 2 years, and that is not the same!

I think that players from draft should be better and older. And also that their max skill should be higher...

Improving the starting skills of draftees will have far reaching repercussions, even in the economy. There is only so far a sim can emulate real life before becoming unbalanced, it doesn't have to be 'real life is like that, so it has to be here too'.

Leave Hattrick to it's Youth Academies, we in BB get our young uns' from the draft. Football and basketball aren't the same.

I strongly oppose a Youth Academy addition.

I checked you're draft. There are 2 retired players from the 1-st round and 3 retired players from the second round. Drafting system here tryes to make it fair throughout the leagues. The actual NBA has 30 teams, with about 3-10 of those get a decent player per draft. Taking that into account, we should get even worse players below div.I.
Consider this now, I can see 5ball skill player, have no knowledge of potential and age. I draft him and get 28 year old. Draft should stay at 18-19. As it's ment for players you will start training.
We do not need any HT crap, in this game.

this was my first draft i didn't get my investment back, and i wasn't the luckyest guy before, the average drafting return is more then 20k for sure, because you could make player with more then one respectable.

You say it work on ht, but in ht they have different systems running paralell, if you have no Youth system it is in my eyes and deisadvantage from at least 200-300k per season - so you are forced to do so to compete with your opponents.

Well in NBA draft 1st round players are top lvl players and they play in start lineups. Usually 1st, 2nd...3th...4th... player from draft play All Star match too!

this is because of the training which is very fast here, which is a compromis to fun - maybe you could make it here too - but i don't expect a system like that ... Maybe we seen some changes indrafting system, but i won't see the raise of quality many players like to see.

@ LA-Kukoc & Spaz:
Same programmers that work on HT, work on this game too? Am I right?
Also HT is first internet game of this kind with 12 years of experience! So if all that true, then its little hard to left HT and think about everything that someone already done :P

@CrazyEye:
If you invest 10k to your scouts, for 14 week that is 140k. Last 3 seasons I have invested 140k (that is 420k). And all that players were useless. I think that is not fair that I for 3 seasons cant get at least one youth player with good potential! ...Even if I invest money into scouts!!! Yes, last useful (for my team) youth player I got when I was 3th lvl league, and that not interesting :P

And ok, you said that is advantage about 200-300k per season...and that players would be forced to use that... so what wrong with that?

No, but they met at ht ;) HT/BB-oxidus, makes the Forum if i am right but doesn't work long for BB and was the only one who works on both games.

it's an lottery like the name said, if you are lucky you have draft like that and earn a lot -> (9336110). Other seaons you make less then it, but i won't say that the average of investment and sell are much different, even if top draft often don't get selled in my experience as a scout.

true on all accounts... it all balances out... I've been investing 10k for 3 seasons and 0 the last one... so after 4 drafts I've spent a total of 420k and earned after selling untrained fresh draftees a total of 1.358M... I trained two players that I got from draft and sold them for a total of 2.4M... and I still have two draftees from my first season here playing for me, one of which is my best player.
So to sum it up, I've spent 420k and earned 3.76M and two players that still play for me... it all balances out and with a bit of smart market placement and training, most of the draftees can be sold... at least for a total of 150k...

You missed one VERY IMPORTANT thing :)
That is that you are not top level league! And all that players you drafted when you were 3th lvl division!!!!

You missed VERY IMPORTANT thing. You finished 5-th in the league and you want a all time great in draft??? You got a good pick out of you're first round.
Let's compare with NBA 30 teams, average of 3 picks are high on talent. Depending on year sometimes it's more sometimes even the first pick sucks. So basically that's 10% of the teams. Transfer that to BB and you get 1.6 picks. 2 top picks should be good (and that's in every division) every draft. I am pretty sure every division in BB get's atleast 2 good enough picks every draft. Now if noone is putting money into scouting you could steal one of those picks even while finishing high in a season. My first season I had a league full of nubs, I picked 2 MVP-s. Last year I finished 1-st and just missed on the best player in my draft. Because of others also contributing a little to scouting.
So my suggestion to you. If you want a top pick in you're league. Lose a lot of games, come last in you're season and scout for 40k. This way you are sure to get that great player. You just have to pray that you do not have the Kenyon Martin, draft year:)

You are wrong once again. If you dont believe me, ask some GM and they will explain to you. If you are in higher league the chance for getting excellent draft player is lower and lower. In 4th, and 3th level leagues at least 2 of 3 drafted players are "solid" (not matter which draft position you have). In top level league you got 1 "solid" player in 3 seasons!!!
That's the difference what I talking about!

You said:
2 top picks should be good (and that's in every division) every draft

Check this year no.1 pick in my league:

1st pick: (9550026)
2nd pick: (9550009) <---- potenitial = STAR
3th pick: (9550007)
4th pick: (9550045)
...
Are those players "good" for you?

CrazyEye can you please agree with this? :)
