Bah, a cowardly tactic. The scrubs will handle this just fine.

what an interesting situation we have tonight:

-- four teams in the Big 8 are both in the Cup and within a game of each other (and one back of Bananhorns) for HCA in the playoffs

-- all four teams could win the Cup and / or have at least a puncher's chance of winning the league title

-- all four teams are on the road tonight

-- all four of the opponents have no reason not to play hard for a win (not in Cup, home court)

-- and, of course, all four teams are probably trying to figure out what the other manager is going to do tonight

possible results for a given team:

-- punt tonight, win on Thursday

-- go for win tonight, stay competitive in hunt for playoff HCA

-- try to stretch roster and figure out way to get three wins

unlike past seasons, teams can't run out their trainees and oldsters and get a win against tanking teams. High Point and the Cacti can defeat pretty decent squads, if given a chance.

all in all, a most interesting night in store. good luck to all.

looks like the scheduling gods moved my finals to the quarter-finals. too bad.

so many NBBA teams left -- four from the same conference -- and i am happy to see that Bob and his Stinky Melons dispatched the pesky Seagulls.

Happy to do it. Only thing I hate worse than uppity DIII teams are actual Seagulls. Frickin winged rats be pooping on my car all the time, I tell ya.
