I can't believe Webb is gone. No fan fare just shipped off like a thief in the night. He deserves better.

Your right...he and Armstead deserved the coronation afforded McLean and Skinner. But both guys should have been future endeavored several seasons when they had some tread left on the tires. Webb in particular had become feeble, and well being 0-6 for the seasons in games decided by six or less can lead to some irrational acts. Taylor and Strong are OK as filler but both present some liability, alas though it appears their market value is nominal, or at least far under projections.

The problem is this, even with the upgrades to personal staying afloat is a dicey proposition. Not that it did much good this evening. Then again we are locked in and might as well buckle up for the challenge the blasters represent. In many ways it's not been a terrible season, nice cup run, first win over a NBBA team, getting the Japan u21 gig, all feathers in the cap. In the league however it has been a struggle. If relegation does occur it will mean a complete rebuild is going to be in order, but we like this neighborhood so if we go it will be kicking and screaming.

Does jammers automatically get nation's slot in the relegation derby or do they have to win out?

Tonight's opening is of the 1000 yard stare. Slow motion shots of the players, coaches and fans all with that forlorn look of weariness from another long season.

Cue: https://youtu.be/bnZdlhUDEJo

Announcer: as the season enters its final days not a lot is left to play for but pride and momentum towards the postseason.

Over in club red...

the Mavs clinch second place with a win, while the blasters are still somewhat in position to climb out of the six hole if they can sweep this week.

The chefs are in cruise control while 2 pretty much finds themselves stuck in the third slot.

the kitties look to claw out another win against the struggling stones

and the masters look to secure fifth with a win over the departing barricade.

Over in the big blue

Cal officially clinches second with a road win against a Deronimo team in the unaccustomed position of looking at a relegation series.

which is a position the Generals find themselves all too familiar with, now they are just hoping to gather some continuity for their upcoming battle while the bunnies prepare to hop on into the playoffs.

Petersburg can make their playoff push official with a win while the jammers are looking at the prospect of having to sweep this week to sneak out of the cellar.

and stormz gets a free lap against nation.

Sybil as always will get her say on the proceedings. Its another edition of vox populi where tnonight the fans will give their viewpoints on the best and worst from the season. And we will delve deeper into the strange goings on with the Generals who's ownership has completely flipped its lid over the last few days. So no ifs ands or buts, we got at least onne thing guaranteed not to turn you nuts as its time again for BB2Night

First, I am playerized computer.
Second, the injured player is my best scorer and I had just bought a skilled big man (PF) that gives me freedom to rotate defensive players at center or pf positions. So, maybe not?

Best screen name in all of BB . Just a brutal turn of luck after you went to such pain to coax your team to where you have them.

And over at the old barn on Lee St (ok they call it Gate City Blvd now) the Generals winter of discontent continues. One of those games with wild swings in momentum. Fell down 8-0 out of the gate. Surged to a 32-17 lead by early in the second. But from there until about the last three minutes it was all bunnies as at one point it was I believe 85-73 as the small dispirited crowd starts to steadily drift away. And then here comes the Calvary. It gets to about 7 with a minute to go, but bunnies cannot close the deal at the line. Next thing you know the generals grab the lead 90-89 with :12 left. Full time out, following the time out the bunnies calmly find that little soft spot in the zone, 91-90 :03 left, no timeout, last effort at the hien fails and it's another heartbreaker for the boys. 0-7 in games decided by 6 or less, 0-8 if you want to include my u21 contests. If you stretch that to games decided by 12 or less ( my definition of competitive contests) I bet it's something like 2-14 when everything is put in aggregate. Then again aggravate is only one letter difference and a much better description of this season. Now we not only got to win Saturday (ok a gimme) but we will have to put up enough of a number to stay ahead on PD because HCA again blasters will be huge. At the end of the day though I have to remember one thing......it's just BB.

I second this. When I figured it out a couple of season ago, I wanted to somehow change my screen name as well to something clever. Have not yet figured out how to do that . . . nor been able to come up with anything nearly as clever.

OOOOO (Light bulb lights up bright) I get it now for the Playerized Computer name. Yeah, you got screwed hope you can last to face the Burgers later, if that is your path this season. Do you remember this prediction:

s44 salary breakdown

The team(s) to beat, petersberg gets his own section. It will be lonely on the top.
1st. petersburg $ 395 553

The contenders, wishing they were the team to beat.
2nd. Fiercekitties $ 336 899
3rd. lakenation $ 330 452

The pretenders, hoping to be the contenders for season44.
4th. Cal Bulldogs $ 318 251
5th Round 2 $ 316 504
6th Stormz $ 294 136

The teams looking to upset the pretenders.
7th Deronimo $ 267 351
8th. MastersOfBBall $ 245 205
9th. CC Mavs $ 235 975
10th. Michigan Blasters $ 235 774
11th. Redstones $234 153
12th Caerbannog Bunnies $ 231 606

The "I hope I can stay in the league this season" teams
13th. Burger Chefs $ 205 461
14th. junkyard jammmers $ 187 685
15th. Greensboro Generals $ 184 136

The team hoping they don't go 0-22 and have their fans revolt.
16th. Boston Barricade $ 103 510

I think Burger Chefs added like over $100k in salary.
