To balance things, i have to say that i am pleased with this african league coming.

I am very surprised E-5 to see you unhappy. I remember your position but the BB have to make a choice : merge the league and the cup or do nothing. Merge the cup but not the league was not possible, you were the only one manager to propose that during the debate.

You have won the last 13 championships in your country (last defeat in a game in South Africa was during season 26 in 2013 irl). How can you be happy with so little competition ? Anyway i am not happy with the senegalese league and i can't wait to compete with managers from all around africa. I know others in Senegal are too

I should not have said "not possible" but it is obvious that this option is more complicated to put in place than simply merging leagues together

Like E-5, i still play this game after years because of NT and BBB. But let's be honest, we managers from small countires can not ask to have it all. Our leagues are boring but it's easy to save money and to qualify every season for the BBB. It seems to me that it would not be fair to keep our advantages and ask for yours as well (more competition & fun between human managers with an african cup)

Last thing, you would not be concerned about the consequences the merging may have on the draft if you were not South-Africa U21 headcoach. I know so called "micro-nations" are another way for managers from big countries to have fun in this game. So you're defending your interests here not ours. Don't understand me wrong we have french managers running Senegal's NTs for a long time and we have no problem

As someone from a micronation who was originally against mergers, I have started to soften my stance on it. Scotland lost two of it's more experienced managers and now it is only a three way race for the title and cup with the rest of the pack quite far behind, so being in a more competitve league would be interesting. However the biggest concern for me is the rate at which new users quit and never give the game a chance. This is the reason behind my change in opinion. Having a more competitve league may help user retention.

I previously looked into what would happen if BB merged Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Currently there is 67 users in the region and a few seasons ago I found that I would of ended up in Div II, being the strongest team in that league by quite a bit. Not sure what it would be like now but a gap would probably still exist between top and bottom of Div II.

I am the current Scotland NT coach and have been the U21 coach as well, so I know exactly the current struggles that come with a micronation NT. Training Scottish players is one of my favourite parts of this game and is probably what keeps me logging in, so the prospect of having a draft which is worse than now is depressing.

An idea how to fix the draft problem is getting rid of Utopia nationality and replacing them with actual nations, then seeding the drafts so more picks come from lower ranked nations. I suggested this at the beginning of Utopia, thread (258150.1). Then for existing Utopian players we can randomly assign them to a nation or hold a draft where the NT coach picks a player to be adopted by their nation. The draft would certainly cause excitement and interest in national teams. Including my other suggestion (284507.14) would mean there is an extra spot for training any lower potential or low TSP draftees which could help fill gaps in micronation NT rosters.

Then we can merge other micronations, have a nice cold pint and wait for all of this to blow over.

I did not read everything so i don't know what Lemonshine or Ivess have said. I was surprised by E-5 reaction and i wrote to him

For the draft, i don't know what to think. Yes, we'll "fight" for the best prospects. Teams will have to choose between winning or tanking for the NT. Instead of 8 drafts (8 african countries) we'll have 2 or 3 so they will be less high potentials. Maybe our NTs will become weaker. Against other nations it will be a problem but we already have a big disadvantage against them. But on the other hand, since it affects all african nations it won't change the balance of power during the african tournament. Maybe the BB can improve drafts from merging leagues. But what will you say, managers from big countries, if we have 3 or 4 MVP or HOF in our drafts ?

Like i said we can't have it all

I play this game mostly to play against humans and to work with other managers for the NT. If i want to play bots, i play football manager ;-)

Since a few seasons the number of active managers has increased in South Africa. I'm worried that these new managers who are still in the learning phase quit the game because of this deep change. Keeping domestic championships and only merging the tournaments seems quite a good compromise that would make everyone happy. In addition I'm very concerned that the change has a strong negative impact on NT because of a restricted draft pool.

This might not be the proper place, but still, a strange thing happened to me, so maybe anyone has answer to that.
So I bought a player http://www.buzzerbeater.com/player/32728572/overview.aspx today from an american team. When I bought him, training has already happened in my country, so the weekly minutes were reset to 0. But in lineup and in training, the newly bought players minutes are still 48+38 (2 games he played last week). Anyone any idea if it is going to be reset to 0, or if I play him for 2 games (i.e. 70-80mins) this week, he might end up around 150+ minutes for the next training renewal?? Should his minutes be reset to 0, or training hasnt happened in USA (that I doubt) yet might be the reason?
