Name one champion of the NBBA who didnt start the game in D2 or better. I defy you to do this.

Perhaps it hasn't happened in the NBBA yet, but it happened already in the Italian 1st division (which is another powerhouse league on BB, in fact Italians are the current world champions). Their current 1st division champs are the Springlfield Drunkers (27013), that came all the way from 3rd division.

without trading..:D

I started out in IV and am doing pretty okay in my first season in div.1.

And I know quite a number of examples of teams in Italy in lower divisions that could easily beat most teams in the game (AS Ciclone, for example).

Springlfield Drunkers started out in III if i'm not mistaken, made it up to 1 in 2 seasons and won Italy's first division last season.

I'm obviously not saying this is normal or frequent, but it's not impossible at all.

Now, to the subject: It is absolutely an advantage to be in BBB. I wont even touch the money-training, which is clearly a boost anyway you look at it.
There are some people arguing that you might lose the league because of it. Sure, you might, but if you lose the league it's because you made it big at BBB, which means you got more money and more training than anyone else in your league, and will quite surely be harder to beat next season and hence will constantly improve your chance at getting to BBB again.
That said, what REALLY makes me think, is about teams like BC Torooo. His team can easily make it through the first many rounds of BBB with the "pic=normal" thing, can build up his enthusiasm, has a sufficiently deep squad to not worry about playing his starters at the league and will get extra money and training.
I'm just thinking, if the other canadian teams didnt really stand a chance before, they will even less right now. Sure, he will play KDB now, so he's not going to pic there, but how high do you think his enthusiasm is right now, playing 4 pics a week?
Come on, sure there are teams that can't take advantage of the opportunity BBB offers, but I'm not worried about those, I'm worried about the ones who can, who are probably already best in the world, and those will get even better, won't they?
I mean, yeah, it's a bitch to have to have a 15-player squad, but if you're training the guys... if you chose someday to switch back to a 12-player squad you could have 6 trained players for 2 positions (= selling two of them and making lots of money), plus extra-money from BBB.... who would compete with you in your league then?

It does make it a lot harder for newer teams, no doubt as to that.

I disagree with this.

Like I said before, 50% of the teams on B3 play only 1 game. Another 25% plays only 2 games. Which means that is a very very small quantity of teams that will actually gain any relevant amount of extra training or extra arena income. And, more importantly, these teams actually deserve that, since they won their National titles and beat other national champions... And you can be sure that those teams will have to TIE all of their league and cup games, and rest their stars, if they want to go that far on B3.

So I, personaly, remain convinced that any complain about the B3 is unfounded.

I will say in response that I haven't been able able to pic every BB3 game as I have played two really good teams already, with KDB coming up - and i doubt there is much difference between doing 3 and 4 ties a week. A lot comes down to luck with scheduling. I could easily have drawn a tough team in round 1 and lost or had a tough opponent in the cup (instead of 4 consecutive bots).

So yes, this will help widen the gap between my team and the others in Canada (except for the Sculpins who are doing some serious damage in BB3), but in the long run the financial gain is probably negligible. While I get an extra $200-250 each week (and extra training - which likely has added little value to the 2 extra players receiving training), I have to tie all my league games (leading to a loss and decreased attendance) which gives some of the teams a chance to beat me (KDB is immune to this with his pact of mutual ties).

Thus, a relatively favourable schedule will help me profit about $600 for the 4 weeks, which is helpful, but not insurmountable for the other teams in Canada that are not playing in BB3. And for the top teams, it is a big carrot to keep us extremely interested in the game until the rest of the teams are able to catch up with us.

You failed to address how the increased travel involved with the BBB affects the health of the elephant.

My team honours everyone's favourite children's audiobook character, Benjamin Bluemchen (the monolingual speaking elephant that lives in a German zoo) - and my team name is based on the sound an elephant makes (I don't think there is an English equivalent).

The travel itself is not so bad, but certainly puts a strain on his friendship with Otto.

I didn't know a team as good as kdb needs mutual ties.....

Does his division know?

Is this where we see the response to where the system is fine and we should not complain?
