i dont think its matter of satisfying our curiosity....

its just the second part of a simple process the game itself has...

(first part) Report a cheater-(second part) issue a fine (where is needed)

since a user is using his time to report something he considers not right...i think he deserves an answer...

for instance: thank you for the report, the team has been penalised
or
thank you for your report everything was done acccording to the BB rules

But this WILL take time...and i know you GMs arent getting paid...

A list would be a simplified way of giving some feedback to those who bother making a report...

unless you think its all about curiosity and people who write a report deserve to stay in the dark....
(i dont think people would appreciate this...)

Why do people feel the need for this? Why do you need to see this information?

I've reported people before and seen them banned by going bot 7-8 weeks after. Why do you need to see the results of your report? Just report and leave it.

Again, why do you need to see this information? So you can bully those who cheated but did not get banned so they quit the game? Is that why? Otherwise what business is it to you to see this information? What use is it to you?

There are thousands of crimes committed every day, I don't see a newspaper filled with reports on all those thousands of crimes. Only the serious ones.

Leave it be. We do not need to see this information, nor will I bother looking at it even if it is made available because it is just not my business.

The newspaper isn't filled with reports, but all trials (criminal and civil) are available to the public. Now I suppose you could make the argument that the court reports shouldn't be available to the public for similar reasons to what you gave above, but that isn't the way it should be. The public should be able to see what people did wrong and what the punishment was in real life, and I think it would be good to have a similar thing here.

1. It will make people realise that people get caught for cheating and could be a preventative measure.

2. It will make people realise that their reports do come to fruition and so will report more.

3. It would be fun to see :P

That's ridiculous.

When you eventually decide to settle down and buy a house Naker, don't forget to ask the local court for a list of all offenders in the suburb you'd like to live in to ensure you don't live on the same street as a criminal.

I'm sure if you were charged with drunken disorderly behavior and it went on your record you wouldn't want your future employer to know :P

Do you not think that bullying is a problem? Bullying over the internet is getting more and more problematic, you think this would help?

If you report a crime or theft to a local police station, they basically say "leave it with us". You can't go back in months later asking if they did anything, that's classified.

There are pros to this suggestion, many in fact. But the cons far outweigh the pros in significance, even though there are less of them.

lol I know plenty of families with young children that do this to check whether there are sexual offenders in the region. Quite a common practice actually, especially in the united states. You can actually look it up online.

Well you are obligated to tell your employer if you have a criminal record. And they can look it up if they really wanted to.

Well teams that are banned will not be bullyed because they won't be here anymore. And I really don't think bullying would be an issue on BB, perhaps it would but I just don't see it happening really.

I can walk in to the courts on any weekday and walk in to any of the courtrooms and listen to the trial and the punishment. So in that sense all details are available to the public.

You say there are lots of pros, but the only con that I can see that you have given is bullying, which I really don't think will be an issue here.

It isn't even a lot of work for GMs to simply post the name of the team and the penalty and why the penalty occured.

If you report that to the BBs, they will see it. If you shout about it publicly, witch hunts ensue, and it creates the incorrect illusion that BBs aren't doing their jobs.

I mean, using that player as a case for a pillory is a horribly invalid argument, and maybe you should have spent the time reporting it to the BBs ;)

We tried to stay clear of comparisons with RL because it's quite ridiculous and because cheating in BB is neither a crime nor an offense. We don't have any rights to know or ask about it. So let's talk about ways to prevent it without resorting to inappropriate arguments please.

It actually shows what's wrong with a pillory, overexagerating a relatively small disturbance.
