I think that in cases where their is slang that doesn't translate, or language which is clear in english but not when translated literarily the LAs should feel free to change the wording to make it clear in their own language. We do however try to write the news posts with a particular style that gives the game a sort of quirky flare.. we think at least... we understand that quirky flare doesn't translate well in some cases. If that flare can be translating without obscuring the meaning then we would prefer that.

Basically, there are two possibilities, that you don't know what we meant in English and so don't know how to translate it clearly, or you are having trouble translating what we said literally because it becomes unclear after you do so.

In case 1) you should come to us to understand what we meant better, and perhaps if our English is actually unclear we should change it

In case 2) you should feel free to change the wording to make the meaning clear, if you can find alternative styling to make the news post not read blandly, that would be good too. I mean we could have written.
"training minutes will be linked to the offensive position played, irrespective of what skill is being trained. If your PG plays the whole week defensively at center, but offensively at point guard and you train rebounding for centers, your point guard will not get any rebounding training."

perhaps an example would have made it clearer in this case, but it makes the whole thing sound very technical and boring.

I'm sure for some people they would prefer technical and boring, but we feel differently about the way we want to present buzzerbeater aesthetically to the world.

I love the feature and I am not at all upset that I did not have knowledge beforehand. This is like Christmas and you was not even aware that Christmas was coming.

I already think about a thousand possibilities, cannot wait till next season.

Cheers, Exos

Maybe I am not explaining very well my position on this topic.
I understand the english, what you want to mean in the News and the aesthetical option you take to present BuzzerBeater to... not the world, only to the english speaking world.
Because once you have released the News, then big BB communities will not receive your original message, they will receive only the traslated version.
So what should we do (LAs)?
- I have to read, understand and get the idea of your message. And be sure about this.
- Then find a way of traslating this message to my language.
- Then try to write it in such a way that I am not telling to my community everything I understood, but less to be true with the original message?

How many linguistic "bugs" may have been created in the whole process?

I think News should be written for the whole BB community and not only for advanced english speaking users. Please, keep in mind that I´m not talking about myself, but for other people of my community and what is being told in our forums.

The and ones are seriously overdue. I've only seen maybe 5 the whole time I've been playing. Glad to see that they'll be more frequent now.

I just wanted to say that this is fantastic news and a great addition to the game. I know the developers get a lot of flack on the forums but this is just another example of their good work. I will probably buy Supporter after my next paycheck in part because of this.

Phenominal changes! I can't wait! I think my team will be even more dominant defensively as I can finally move my 6'6 point guard(highest OD on my team) to guard shooting guards! I can also move my undersized powerful to guard small forwards, and my big SF to guard the PF. I can't wait for next season.

And the "AND ONE!"s are always, good.

flair man, flair!

Point of order, why doesn't training follow the defensive role selected if a defensive skill has been chosen for training for that week? Is that particularly hard to code? Wouldn't it be more intuitive to match the training up, with offensive roles retained for 'neutral' skills like passing and rebounding?

I think with these changes, the game becomes more of a guessing game.
Example: "Is he going to play shooting guard as center offensively?"

Yes, it does allow better training regimens. But people are just going to mix it up every time, playing centres as small forwards, and guards as centers to catch you off guard.

Just my 2 cents. You guys may not agree. We will see how it works out.
