Well Im sorry but as you all know I was not able to get a week of writeups done, im just going to overlook those missed writeups and continue from now, with last mondays results and tomorrows predictions.

World Cup:

Final Pool:

Results:

Espana 107 at Italia 114
This was a matchup of two very strong teams, that are contenders and on equal effort Itaia was able to pull this one out. This loss was tough for Espana and with two games remaining are a game behind the United States for the final spot in the semifinals currently. POTG: Gabriele Turbato had 22 points, 11 rebounds and an 18.5 rating.

United States 127 at Uruguay 125
The United States survived a scare here and pulled out a crucial victory over Uruguay. With OT the ratings posted were amazing, but The United States lethal outside attack was too much Uruguays 3-2 zone. POTG: Ricky Logsdon had a game high 36 points, 4 assists and a 19.0 rating.

China 84 at Chile 103
Both teams played LI M2M in this game, but Chile was just better as evident by the ratings and pulled out a nice 19 point vicory over the strong China team. Chile currently only have one loss and re shoeis to advance to the semis. POTG: David Tapia had a team high 27 points, a game high 14 rebounds and a 19.5 ratng.

Poland 128 at Australia 82
Polands HCA and strong roster absolutely crushed Australia and the ratings put up were once again unbelievable. Poland won every single quarter which added up to a 46 point victory. POTG: Jerzy Wisniewski had a game high 29 points, a gamee high 14 rebounds and a game high 22.0 rating.

1.Poland(1) 5-0 581 482
2.Chile(3) 4-1 584 535
3.Italia(2) 4-1 583 567
4.United States(5) 3-2 554 555
5.España(4) 2-3 568 552
6.China(7) 1-4 480 537
7.Australia(6) 1-4 528 602
8.Uruguay(8) 0-5 553 601

Predictons:

Espana(4) at Uruguay(8)
GS wise these two teams are pretty much equal. Talent wise they are equal down low, but on the outside Espana has the definite advantage and that is what could help them, Espana needs to win their final two games to give themselves the best shot at advancing. My pick: Espana on equal effort.

United States(7) at Australia(9)
Australia needs to win their final two games and Espana and the United States have to lose their final two for Australia to advance... with the United States having great GS for their guards this week im afraid that will not happen. My pick: United States wins with less effort.

China(6) at Italia(3)
China needs two victories in a row, combined with two losses from Espana and the United States will allow China to possible qualify, well those chances are slim, but they start with a game against Italia. China has as good as GS as they can ask for for their guards, while Italia has a couple of their best guards at proficient GS. China's bigs aren't in ideal GS, but are no too bad, while Italia is in the same boat. My pick: Brace yourself, China wins on extra effort, I gotta hunch with this one ;)

Poland(2) at Chile(1)
The battle of all battles. Number1 vs Number 2 the eternal matchup. Chile has better GS and a comparable roster. Poland has HCA. My pick: Chile does not need this game and lose on a TIE, but I think if they used extra effort, theyd win.

Americas U21 Continentals:

Pool E:

Brasil 96 at Panama 65
On equal effort, Brasil is the much stronger team between these teams, I think we all knew that, but this game showed it once again. Panama had some pretty good ratings, but just are't ready. In due tme Panama, in due time. POTG: Armando Branquinho had a game high 25 points, a team high 11 rebounds, and a game high 16.5 rating.

Peru 89 at Mexico 58
Highest scorer in this game:13. Most FGs made by one player in this game: 6. Yeah, it was one of em exciting ones. In a defensive battle, Peru came out on top against Mexico and their CT. Not sure why Mexico picked this game to CT, but they did. POTG: Rodriggo Haddad had a remarkable team high 12 points, 8 assists and a 14.0 rating.

Uruguay 114 at Argentina 102
Uruguy was able to surprise everyone, by beating Argentina in this thrilling OT game. Both teams played an outside offense and were fairly efficient. POTG: Diego Garcia had a game high 35 points, a game high 7 assists, 6 rebouds and a 15.5 rating.

1.Brasil U21(1) 2-0 186 134
2.Uruguay U21(3) 2-0 215 175
3.Peru U21(4) 1-1 165 139
4.Panama U21(5) 1-1 146 172
5.Argentina U21(2) 0-2 171 204
6.México U21(6) 0-2 131 190

Predictions:

Argentina(11) at Mexico(70)
Argentina has a much much stronger team and GS desnt even matter, but Argentina also has that advantage. Mexico has some promising 20 and 19 yo big men that'll anchor them in a season or two. My pick: Argentina wins this one easily.

Panama(40) at Uruguay(25)
These teams look fairly simliar and I think Panama has better outside GS whilst Uruguay has better inside GS. Panama has less to lose though. My pick: Uruguay scratches out a win using less effort.

Brasil(15) at Peru(26)
Brasil has much better GS and a much better team, this one is easy pickings. My pick: Brasil wins on less effort.

Pool D:

Results:

Canada 97 at Chile 80
This game was surprising,Chile isn't alot better then Canada, but I thought theyd have this one in the bag. Canada's efficient Motion offense was too much however and they pulled out the victory. This makes the standings reall crazy and multiple teams have a chance at advancing to the semis. POTG: Rudolph Lentz had a game high 23 points, 3 rebounds and a 15.5 rating.

Venzuela 73 at Colombia 95
Colombia was just the much better team as they won each quarter and pulled out a convincing 22 point win in this one. POTG: Jose Antonio Orjuela had a game high 26 points, 7 rebounds and a 12.5 rating.

United States 110 at Ecuador 58
Ecuador is the weakest team in this pool by quite a bit and it showed in this game as the United States was able to manhandle Ecuador. Their RnG offense was just too much for Ecuador to handle. POTG: Forrest Machado had a game high 20 points, 6 rebounds, and a game high 16.0 rating.

1.Colombia U21(4) 2-0 160 130
2.United States U21(1) 1-1 211 160
3.Canada U21(3) 1-1 154 145
4.Venezuela U21(5) 1-1 157 164
5.Chile U21(2) 1-1 182 198
6.Ecuador U21(6) 0-2 127 194

Predictions:

Ecuador(62) at Canada(18)
Canada has huge advantages all over the court, Ecuador hs no chance at all. My pick: Canada wins with ease.

Chile(16) at Colombia(36)
Both teams are similiar talent and GS wise. Although I give slight advantages to Chile on both of those. My pick: Chile wins on equal effort and makes the standings even more crazy.

United States(4) at Venezuela(47)
The United States are soo much stronger then Venezuela and have good GS, I think this is a game that the United States really should win. My pck: United States on less effort.

World Cup:

Final Pool:

Results:

China 133 at Italia 142
This was a highscoring affair and three times one of the teams scord 40+ points in a quarter! Both teams played RnG, but China played a 2-3 zone and also used more effort. If China had used a M2M defense instead of a 2-3 I think they would've won this game and my prediciton would've been correct ;). Oh well though. POTG: Leonardo Biondi had 26 points, a team high 6 assists, 3 rebounds and an 18.5 rating.

Espana 136 at Uruguay 104
Both teams played an outside attack in another high scoring game, in which Espana dropped 51 points in the 4th. 51. No typo there. Espana used more effort, for some odd reason, which will hurt them in te future as they mut win their next game to have a chance at advancing. I do not understand their thought process on this one. POTG: Luciano Courel had a game high 37 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and a 16.0 rating.

Poland 118 at Chile 126
Well Chile pulled out the win by using extra effort just as I said they would if they used more effort. I do not think they shuld have as I think they woul advance otherwise, but hey they beat Poland! With OT the ratings were inflated and resultd in the best PTB ratings I have ever seen by Poland. POTG: David Tapia had 23 points, a game high 24 rebounds, and a 19.5 rating.

United States 129 at Australia 116
This one was straight forward, same effort, different gameplans and the United States were just better. They are now in good position to advance a win or Espana loss clinches it for them. POTG: Martin Medrano had a team high 23 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and a game high 21.0 rating.

Americas U21 Continentals:

Pool E:

Results:

Panama 90 at Uruguay 71
Well Panama surprised many by crunching this game against Uruguays TIE ad came out on top and now have a good shot at advancing. Uruguay will need to recover from this one. POTG: Benjamin Burgos had a game high 24 points, a game high 15 rebounds, and a 12.5 rating.

Brasil 74 at Peru 61
Brasil won this defensive battle and arenow 3-0 and have the best shot at advancing. Peru had stellar defense again(due to HCA), but had little to no offense and came up short.POTG: Pierluigi Ragusa had 13 points and a 16.0 rating.

Argentina 108 at Mexico 74
Mexico used more effort, but still got dominated in this game. Argentina continues to put up some good ratings and look fairly strong. POTG: Robereustaquio Spagnuolo had a team high 21 points, 5 rebounds and 16.0 rating.

Pool D:

Ecuador 71 at Canada 92
Ecuador crunched against Canadas TIE, it did not work... at all, but they tried. Canada's PTB was very effective and the ratings they put up were great. Ecuador really is the weakest team left in thhis competition and their ratings reflect that.POTG: Dwain Hadley had a team high 17 points, and a 15.0 rating.

United States 114 at Venezuela 84
Venezuela did everything they could on equal effort, but the United States are just too much stronger. This win basically pushes Venezuela out of the picture and helps the United States quite a but. POTG: Mike Merrill had a team high 18 points, 8 rebounds and a game high 17.0 rating.

Chile 93 at Colombia 88
Colombia suffered their first loss of this round and inturn made this pool extremely interesting as 4 teams are now 2-1. Colombia used more effort and still came up short against the strong Chile opposition. POTG: Bayron Renner had 17 points, 11 rebounds and a 12.0 rating.

Great reports! I don't understand why China used 2-3 defense. I don't like that defense because it's so susceptible to outside attack it's always a coinflip. It's true it's very good against Look inside and Low post, but it's so bad against all other tactics it's just not worth it.

World Cup

Final Pool:

Results:

Poland 101 at Italia 76
Polands highflying offense coupled with their HCA resulted in a simple victory over the very good Italia squad. Both teams will be advancing to the semifinals and have good shots at making it to the finals. Poland looked stronger then ever today, which is not good for their future opponents. POTG: Radoslaw Podniesinski had a team high 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and a 20.0 rating.

China 106 at Uruguay 111
Battle of two opposites types of teams here. Uruguay with their LI and China with their RnG. Seems like Uruguays 3-2 was the difference maker in this game, that did not decide much other then world ranking. POTG: Guillermo Magnano had 20 points, a game high 11 rebounds and an 18.0 rating.

United States 93 at Chile 98
United States used extra effort to try and win this one and force a rematch in the semifinals, it backfired and now they face with Poland with diminished enthusiasm and only a small sliver of hope to win that one. POTG: Ulf Gornitz had a game high 35 points, 14 rebounds, and a 19.0 rating.

Espana 100 at Australia 115
Espana TIEd and Australia CTd in this game. Had Espana won theyd be in the semifinals instead of the United States, they must've figured that saving enthusiasm to give it their best shot at Poland was better then guarateeing a spot in the final four, but with virtually no chance at advancing further. POTG: Sun Cunming had a game high 27 points, game high 11 rebounds, and a 16.0 rating.
