Unfortunately there are hardcore people who want the game harder, people who want to safeguard their advantageous position and naysayers who are satisfied with the current state of affairs.

Well I have been saying nay to those naysayers for years... Unfortunately it's becoming harder every day to express an opinion.

Well it's your choice to indicate that 10 users who are arguing on the forums are idiots, but there are quite a few indicators why the game is on a decline and I'd rather be open and up front about it, so newbies know what to expect - no need to sugarcoat the truth.

Instead of telling us that we are (and probably should stop) trashing the game, you and some others should finally understand that this frustration has been nurtured by many flaws and shortcomings on the developer and owner side.

Maybe we have to agree to disagree, but in my opinion the issues have been exposed over and over again - it's not the users fault that the critizism is growing. Just because nobody else is vocal about it, does not mean its just 10 maniacs that go rampant. 30k users gone are a strong voice too!

You'd rather hide your head in the sand or treat people like they don't have the right to even talk to you like someone else does? We are all expressing legitimate (in our opinion) concerns. Those concerns actually show that we think about the game as a whole rather than our own little backyard and we're not pushing for changes so that we can get an advantage...and yet what we get are incorrect/misleading official statements and dismissive attitude.

Look, none of us think we have a crystal ball or we're smarter than you or the BBs. We voice our concerns. We discuss with whoever is willing to listen and/or make a rational case about things.

Besides, how many people who were asking for changes before I even started playing the game still play? You should consider yourself lucky that there are still people who care about making this game better or more accessible to new managers. After all, it does stand to reason that without seeing enough improvements this kind of people should be among the some 30k users who already left the game.

And if you think that most of the people who used to debate improvements and state of the game are not among those who already left then you should really ask yourself why very few people now participate in forums. The participation is much less than half than it used to be with twice as many users....you just need to pick up old threads to see that.

Maybe he thought that since they managed to get rid of a few thousand in the last 4-5 years by not addressing the most glaring issues, all of those people were gone.

Perpete, if you seriously think the userbase is shrinking because people voice concerns on the boards, then just ban the 10 of us from the forums and delete those threads for Pe(rpe)te's sake! Then you will be able to triumphantly show us evidence how that improved the trend of people leaving/joining.

Oh and btw. I sent a really solid offer to the BBs to buy the game, never got an answer though... So much for my Motivation...

Clearly Perpete didn't mean that 30,000 people looked at the forum and though ''Man... this is a really negative place. I can't deal with a game where the users aren't 100% content!'' and then quit because of it.

The idea is that the mindset around the entire site seems to be increasingly focused on ''What's wrong with BB?''.

Yes. It's not perfect. No there doesn't seem to be a large response from the BB's side of things (in my opinion, a new BB or two for PR and fixing the smaller things would go a long way... Marin seems overwhelmed.) But you know what? I like the game despite it's flaws! It's freaking fun. I love debating between trying to figure out a strategy that will bet the LI teams despite the slant or else giving in and trying to find the most cash efficient way to run the LI system. I like the imperfections and the quirks of the game. If I wanted a perfectly realistic basketball game I'd go coach little league.

When we start to love BB, advertise and explain it better to new people then I think the user problem will balance out.

I like this game to be difficult, the harder the better. But at the same time, I understand how boring must be for people starting in this game to be told to wait for like 5 seasons to build your arena and start training a few players. On top of that, the learning curve is steep because some aspects of this game only make sense in the BB world (training, GS, etc.), so you have to study how things work here.
I propose to give new managers an arena double the size of the current starting arena. That's a gift of $1350000.
They also need a team with better starting players, so they can try to be competitive in the lowest league. And three trainees that are not great but worth of receiving training.
Putting new players in the same league could also help because it's not fun to play against bots or teams much better than you.
At last but not least, a good tutorial where you get money every time you complete some basic of the game, so you are encourage to learn by doing and keep coming back. Let's face it, the rules are too long to read for most people.
I think with these measures we can drop the quit rate of newcomers.
Utopia would be left out of these changes.
