I would win the opposite league 6-th or 7-th easily. I had both teams below me with worse point difference than me. So taking the risk of coming 5-th + losing some income wasn't worth it. I will take the second seed next year anyway. So going for that crappy 6-th place will obviously lose more money per season than going for that 2-nd spot.

Whether you win more or less, it is not only money that is at stake !
We already talked about this in this thread

Let's see the facts : it happens quite often and it influences other teams.

That one extra game is not a big deal. Comon. If you have decent trainees, they can rack up those 48 minutes, no problem. You have 2 games, that you do not have to win! So you can play anyone at any needed position.

Once again, that's not the main problem, just reasons why it happens ><

We have already talked about these different points in this thread.
Why coming back to them again and again to argue if they are worth while according to what you might win or loose ?

You might be true or wrong, it doesn't change a thing to the fact that it happens quite often, that if influences final classifications.
Therefore, if you wan't more fair competition, has something to be changed to the way it occurs today ?
That's the true question and I personnally answered YES !

it is not only a game, it is also income(more then the most PO teams made).

I don't thing that it is worth in every league to fall back to 6, but in lot league it is. Also the motivation to finish on a better place is very low, if i had to decide if i fight for place 5 or prepare for the relegation(with an taff opponent) i would choose the preparation in the most case - betwen the most other spots i would figth hard to get the better place only the difference betwen 4th and third place is small.

When last season ended I suggested, that you get a finish bonus for the spot you finish in. One time income for everyone depending on the ending spot, with playoff games adding 0 income.
Second option would be to give relegation matches, scrimmage attendance. That would remove most of the income.
From another point of view, isn't relegation income giving lower tier teams some needed boost to catch up a little. We can all agree that nr1 and nr2 teams in conference have it good. If they actually deserve their spots, they will get decent income from playoffs. 3-4 will prolly get less than 6-7. You should avoid 5,8. Now depending on league strenght sometimes 5-th or above is heaven -> those being divI-s in most countrys.

personally i think it is more about, the advantages of sixth places and the problem that many team tank into it, and there are also some post regarding income(not all from me).

would be ok for me maybe with extra bonus for PO succes - so that teams like mine who finish first but flew out in the first round ain't in a better position then the team who beat me(which actually gets nearly the same amount of money like me, when they loose their next game could be higher in my eyes but thats a different topic)

if you look at this point why the fifth place, should loose contact to the PO. Why 3/4 placed teams, should loose contact to the top etc.

In average also one team of the top two, will get less income then the sixt, if the arena are on a similiar level because the attendance is very good for all post season games.
