If the main issue of the new scouting system is whether bots should choose randomly or follow their rough baseline, I think the system will have been a huge success because it addresses a lot of the issues that have been brought.

I'm not suggesting that it would make it more fair or not.
I'm referring to this quote by one of the BB's:

In fact, under the current system if you discover such a talented player in your draft pool, you will even be able to estimate pretty well where he'll go in the draft order and plan accordingly.

What I'm saying is that under the new draft system if you found out that there is this talented player (Lebron James) in your draft pool, then it could be a strategic move to tank the rest of the season to get a batter chance at getting this once in a lifetime player.

And a Q for the BB's: Can you give a rough estimate in terms of weeks on how long it will be before this new draft is available.
I'm wondering this as well.

Also, a logistics question: You say that "Scouting points may be spent at any moment until the draft is run, but cannot be carried over into the next season." What that would have meant this year is that when the economics update ran on Monday, we would receive how ever many scouting points, and would then have only a handful of hours to spend them and rearrange our draft lists before the draft started at 11AM.

You agreed with this division equality.

I quoted the text because you agreed with it. Your own quote adresses the same thing.

So you are talking about, tanking the season, thus losing a lot in income + relegating (which Boston did not have to fear) and losing even more income the next season. You still might draw, 4k salary with bad skill distribution good height superstar. Would it really be worth tanking the season???

Any news on when the new system will come into play? And when it does, will the scouting money being spent now be converted to points all at once?

Well if I scouted a 5 ball talent, A+, 5 ball potential, 18 year old, 6'6" SF for that draft...

Tanking the season and losing all that income you just mentioned may not be out of the question. Again its a strategy that could be played out and it depends on the individual situation for a team, doesn't mean its a blue print for every team.

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: pitiful
Driving: awful Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: respectable ↑

Experience: atrocious

This guy was 5 skills, A+, 5 pot. SF. Are you really sure you would tank a season for him? Turns out he is 6'6 aswell. Something we could not know before draft actually ran.
Just like you add a 450k C just before the playoffs to help your promotion. Something that also happened this season. Now if you fail to promote you have just cost your team a big chunk of cash, when you try to get rid of him after the vital game (that's a few weeks pay + week or 2 trying to sell him, possibly even losing on the player transfer price).

Are you sure that player was an A+ player? Reason being that I got a player with A+ in last season's draft and his skills were far better than the ones you listed above.

My understanding is that the grades are based on salary, but with 2 atrocious on inside skills and a pitiful and awful in guard skills it seems hard to believe. Perhaps there is just a very large variance.

However, you did not provide the age or potential for that player. If the player is 18 and a Hall of Famer or All time great then I bet you could sell him for 1.5 to 2 million dollars and it may have been worth tanking the season.

That player Kukoc posted will have a salary of around 4.7k so I'm sure he'll be A+.
