Don't worry, you want to win but it is more important to build yourself up at this point. I am new to this league but have played this game before and decided to give it another try. Building up Hoffman right now and he is already tearing up the lower level teams in this league. Has good potential, and I think he can be a star player for this league pretty soon(once I get a decent trainer).

Got beat by 20 the last time I faced Pelham. We'll see how these Finals go. Good luck.

First time in HISTORY that my entire Starting Five makes the Finals without an Injury... I see a catastrophe happening on Tip Off where all 5 go down. That, or a plane crash getting to the game.

Welcome to the league ToeToTheFace! I am trying to promote as fast as I can for the promotion bonus and plan on staying in D4 longer than most to train up a young core, build my stadium and get rid of old farts, I really am thinking long term even though it may not look like it haha.

Sorry Pelham, I am going to be cheering for KillerKell, killer needs to move on, he has been here for too long and deserves to move on :) plus if I don't get a bot promotion this offseason, I don't want him here to kill us again next season.

Oh, and by the way I looked at Hoffman, he looks very nice. You keep playing him at SG which suggests to me you are 2 position training, for best results I would do 1 position training as he is your only true trainee right now. Also, even though he is putting up a ton of points, his rating is consistently in the 6's which is super low which makes me think he has low OD, if I were you I would train OD to about 11 (prolific) before you do anything else so he can be a stud for you for a long time.

I know you have played this game before, and are experienced, but this is just what I would do.

I'll take that as a compliment.

Funny, his Scorers are Outside (SG and SF) and mine are Inside. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah I have him at SG for outside shooting 1 position. He has the best potential of the group and is young so he is our best chance for development over the next couple seasons. His OD isn't very good, but his scoring wasn't either before he picked up a couple bumps. I just picked up a superior trainer for 300 or so thousand, so that should help create more improvement.

Does OD improve faster than outside shooting or are you just suggesting OD because you prefer it for guards over the other improvement? Obviously I have played this game before but it has been a while since I have trained someone up and don't remember exactly how it works.

I'm probably just going to tank next season as well to set up the only staff I have left to get(doctor), and begin to expand the stadium to maintain profit margin as player salary begins to rise. Who gets promoted to the next division? Just the winner or top 2, or is it more than that?

Jump shot and jump range train the fastest on guards so I would wait on that to get other things out of the way before his training dramatically slows down. OD is the most important skill in all of BB. On the national team, all guards have at least 19 OD. OD allows the guard to pressure them, block passes from going inside, affect jump shots, not allow someone into the paint and more, no other skill can make such a big difference in a game. For new trainees always start with 1V1 guards because of the elastic effect. The elastic effect says that skills lower then all other skills will train faster to catch up, and 1V1 guards is perfect for that because it trains JS DR and handling.

For promotion, the team who wins the finals always promotes and if there are still a couple of bot teams after all the champions are promoted, then the D5 teams with the highest country ranking promote.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, it has been quite a while(over 2 years I think) since I have played this game, so I didn't totally remember how training worked.

I played before here but didn't do anything substantial, only to D4 then forgot about BB. I relearned all this from the offsite forum though

Yeah I never made it past D4 because I didn't pay enough attention. I do remember getting a 18 MVP potential PG, and starting him on 1 v 1, but that was the last thing I did, by the time I came back(just before I would have been kicked automatically) I had no money and was producing negative. So I just decided to quit, but I plan to actually pay attention and slow build this time.
