can i have a opinion on this formula?

i was setting my lineup for the semifinals, and i thought that i might take a closer look on my players using this formula and bbs... 'cuz i wanna use TIE tomorrow and i try to be extra careful with things...

one thing i noticed in this formula is that when i checked out the players' rating, my SG's took all the highest out of all my players... also, in every position, except C, my SG's still took the possible positions... even my center who took the C spot, didn't have a chance to take the PF spot, as my 2 SG's who also have high attributes took the PF spot.

main point is that the formulas used IMO are more efficient to SG/SF... and should be taken a closer look if you want to put in other positions. the PG can be accepted, but a little tweak won't hurt, and the PF and C formulas here needs another look.

...just a thought.Ü

oh yes also for me it was not the best formulas

now i use this that i think it's a litle bit more exact than other

c=(([id]+[bl]+[rb])*0.450+([is]+[pa])*0.350+([dr]+[js])*0.162+([ha]+[jr]+[od])*0.038)/(3*0.450+2*0.350+2*0.162+3*0.038)
pg=(([ha]+[pa]+[od])*0.450+([jr]+[js])*0.350+([dr])*0.162+([is]+[id]+[bl]+[rb])*0.038)/(3*0.450+2*0.350+1*0.162+4*0.038)
pf=(([is]+[id]+[rb])*0.450+([dr]+[js]+[st])*0.350+([pa]+[jr])*0.162+([ha]+[od])*0.038)/(3*0.450+3*0.350+2*0.162+2*0.038)
sg=(([js]+[jr]+[od])*0.450+([pa]+[dr])*0.350+([ha]+[is])*0.162+([id]+[bl]+[rb])*0.038)/(3*0.450+2*0.350+2*0.162+3*0.038)
sf=(([js]+[dr]+[is])*0.450+([jr]+[od])*0.350+([ha]+[od]+[pa])*0.162+([st]+[bl])*0.038)/(3*0.450+2*0.350+3*0.162+2*0.038)

the other has any problems in the code, this no

there is also another sistem of weights

i think that is good for small players but i don't know how many is good to long players

try this and say me how is

maybe we should give a factor on the height of a player in centimeters... just to have a limit in the positions... if only i can factor on how would this be included in the formula... this thread needs more elaboration, yes, but i can't elaborate more cuz i'm drunk... i need some sleep and that's what i'm about to do now...

be back later.... hopefully, with my made formulas.Ü

wish me luck

@micio
the tweak on your new formulas is slightly better... but still, guards are dominating the ratings.Ü

found another bug!!!

when you point the cursor in the shortcut keys, the meaning of the keys appears... except for the PR (which is practice) keys, wherein free throw is being popped out...

also... i have a wishlist
i wish that the height can also have a shortcut key in making formulas... i indicated in my post earlier that i wanted to include height in making a formula... i'm sure i will not be the only one who will be making this included in bbs... also, i thought it will be a good idea to include it... making all possible (even impossible) attributes in the player, part, in making formulas...

...again.. just a thought.Ü

interesting ideas...

How would you put it in the formula I mean what number would you put for the calculations in height?

I can really use an example....

Jack

mmh also hard to get a formula out of this i guess.
somewhere i read : The height modifier to training will be reduced, particularly for jump shooting.
this is for train...

so first we need to find out first which skills work together with height on which positions?
complicated i think, but somewhere we need to start ^^

i knew that height it's important only to train

on playground you can use also a 1,70 meters center but with strong in rembounds and is better then a 2,20 meters center with passable in rebounds

i made a formula based on my team ratings and my expected projections...

i'm still not satisfied with it, but still, i'm proud to show it to you all...

it still needs tweaking, as my PF formula is the least accurate of all... try it out and leave comments...

i also added game shape as part of it's ratings... you can also disregard it, if you think it is irrelevant to the outcome.

pf=((([is]+[dr]+[rb])/2)*0.25)+((([id]+[rb])/2)*0.30)+([bl]*0.20)+((([js]-[jr])/2)*0.25)+.[pr]

pg=((([ha]+[pa])/2)*0.400)+([od]*0.400)+((([js]+[jr]+[is])/3)*0.200)+.[pr]

c=([is]*.37)+((([id]+[bl])/2)*.37)+([rb]*0.20)+([pa]*0.06)+.[pr]

sg=((([rb]+[id]+[od])/3)*0.160)+((([js]+[jr])/2)*0.460)+((([pa]+[ha]+[dr])/3)*0.380)+.[pr]

sf=((([js]+[jr])/2)*0.35)+((([ha]+[pa])/2)*0.25)+((([is]+[dr])/2)*.25)+((([od]+[id])/2)*0.15)+.[pr]

...try it out...Ü

i guess there is no perfect formula after all

why? well... (12096.13)

it's all up to the bbs user on what he likes to inculde in the formula...

this is the initial basis for my formula... i included attrributes that i want my player in that position to have...

I found another small bug last night :
Sorting the columns of the players abilities is buggy. sorting ascending puts 10 before 2.

... Working on a fix...

10 < 2 if your field is a text value instead of a number :-)

Neither can I, and I've lived my whole life in one of the two main hockey hotbeds in the USA.

Florida or Colorado? :-P
