Obviously there are a ton of reasons bb isn't retaining users with the biggest reason being the lack of an app in the modern age, but also progress in the game itself, which is something Trainerman is passionate about(although I sometimes take the piss).

Problem is, the game can only advance so far with the resources it has and I really dont think it has much further to go without the need for serious investment (basically being re-created). The code is complicated, no doubt, but compare BB to the slick programmed reality of the modern internet and it is primal.

Also, i'd just like to point out that retaining users is good but ultimately all people will eventually leave because real life takes over.

Hell since I first managed in season 15 I've graduated, had multiple jobs, lived in 3 different cities, become an uncle, quit the game once, updated my team from Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Africa and the middle east, lost more hair than I care to think about and started to gain some grey ones.

I love BB but at some point day to day of life takes priority over anything else for all of us.

My two cents here to add to the conversation is that I do think finding creative ways to advertise is important. Maybe invite, say, sportswriters on internet websites to check out the game (maybe offer extended free Supporter for review articles about the game), or getting in touch with the NBA or FIBA about getting some free loving by way of soundbites at on their websites.

Problem is, that BB is shopworn (to say it in a more polite way) and no media outlet will get affiliated with an outdated website.

Every now and then they repaint the building and maybe add a new wing.

Ehm no. The Louvre does not get painted and definitely does not see additional parts added to the building. Same as the empire stat building does not get a few floors added every now and then ;)

Adding countries is no Feature (?) you can advertise with too... Especially if those come for a Price.
