Here's an idea: everyone just wait to see the specifics and how it's implemented before jumping off a cliff like lemmings over this decision. Not a supporter, but willing to be one if I agree with the implementation and the details. Wait and see. Not the end of the BB world because Marin posted a decision that even said the details were being worked out. Just my two cents.

I have 1757 players for sale and I'm $25,835,360 in debt. Buy them at outrageous prices, or be selfish and make me go bankrupt. You decide, BB.

Thanks, Marin. I was in support of this supporter nation from the start, and I agree it's the best way to implement this feature.

Still haven't heard a good argument against it. If you've got one, I'd love to hear it.

1. Doesn't solve micro nation problem. Let's say I'm very generous and there are 1000 supporters. With almost 100 countries, each country would get on average 10 more users if we let second teams in existing countries. Wow! That would have solved the problem! The only way the original solution was going to help active users in micro nations was to allow them to set up another team in a more competitive country. They can still do that.

2. Wanted to have a second team in a micro nation. Why? You do realize that's part of the problem they're trying to fix. Perhaps it's personal preference and that's fine, but it seems like the majority of users are looking for something more competitive (99th country) rather than less competitive.

3. Having a team in a 99th country is like a private league. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Precisely. A private league is a vehicle in which you can test out various lineup strategies with your existing roster; a new team in a new country would allow you to try out new team-building strategies instead. It's a wholly different beast.

I don't like Utopia. It's just like the PL for me....But, something is better than nothing.

Lopo, this is a game, and i want to simply relax when i play. 2nd team in Micro is not only "i love to win easy", but is also "ok, few users, less competition". If i want to relax in Italy, i have to demote. Simply. Or i need luck to have 3 bots during season. At least in III/II div. A promotion, in a well developed and experienced div, costs at least 50k-80k per week more than your incomes. As example, in my leagues 2 seasons ago 2 teams had more than 400k salaries. An injury didn't allow one to promote, he rebuilds all the team and reaches promotion with 620k salaries.
3/4 seasons ago a players reaches promotion because he's a daytrader, so he can afford more salary.
I'm not ask tanking, but simply a less pressure when i play. And Supporterland will not help me for having this kind of game.

I haven't said anything about "I love to win easy" or any other different reason to enjoy playing in small leagues, but this is an unrealistic vision, which ignores the fact that if you suddenly add hundreds or thousands of new teams to the micronations...micronations doesn't exist anymore. That's my point, nothing else.

i've searched all this time Marin's posts in this topic and he never talk about fullfill micros adding thousands (are the supporter more than 3% of the users? probably after this link with the betting site, not before) of new teams in the same league or in a group of it. He spoke about limits, strong limits. I calculated that 55 countries are under 100 users and they represents only less than 5% of total users and every supporter, if needed to "fight" against micro's problem, should reach one of this 55 (55!! not 10-12.... more than half of countries)... and i'm still convinced about not so much guys will buy supporter for 2nd team. We will have a month, or two, or three, where supporters increase, then, after one complete season, the lucky/brave/better ones which obtain promotion will mantain supporterand 2nd team, others MAY mantain supporter but i'm enough sure they will left his 2nd team... at least with actual perspective. And, now, due to this 99th country, i hope they can't interfere with normal transfert list, because it may become only a simple increase of pricing of every player...

like Joe Bastianich speak here in Italy, BB-marin, this time "Mi Stai Diludendo"

My two cents: The thing for me wouldve been the games and forums of another country... Like people already pointed out, Utopia doesnt feel real enough to invest time in, its more or less a private league with new players.
Still appriciate the effort in trying to broaden the game though.

I have two concerns about the Utopia idea:
1) It does nothing to solve the idea of micronations. I'm afraid that these are increasingly becoming dead ends with no hope of getting anywhere interesting.
2) A Utopia is inorganic. One of the charms of fitting into the existing structure would be to compete in countries where one might have some connection and to grow within an already existing system. The addition of more teams in any large country would hardly have made a difference to the total number there and could have revitalized small countries.

Anyway, let's see how it goes.

I continue to think that the best idea is that the users can have a second team in a micronation or in an Utopia country (they have to choose between the 2 options). So if a 99th country is created, that means it will be very easy for the dev' to allow a second team in another country. We can still convince them :)

I have nothing else to say...

People asked for Utopia, they'll have a "Utopia style kind of league". I'm fine with democracy. But like Jay-m from India and other managers from bigger nations have said, it does not solve the problem of micronations... Some managers want to compete in a brand new league where everybody start from the beginning. Fine. But others have said they want to help NTs to improve or experience how it is to play in a micronation. Some managers are living in a country but would like to have a team in the country they come from. Everybody has its own reasons, everybody should be able to choose.

10 more users, experienced and active users, it does not just solve Senegal's problem. This would be a revolution
