I finished first, so I know the feeling.

BTW, I drafted a 5 ball rating, A, 5 potential guy.

Bratislava Globetrotters

Weekly salary:
$ 4 072
DMI: 0
Age: 19
Height: 6'10" / 208 cm

Beware: 5 potential players may be 19 years old. I thought it was possible too, just thought it wouldnt happen to me :(.

Btw.. do bots in the league get picks before humans? There is only about 6 or 7 humans in my league. Think I'll finish low in the table deliberately next season.

The bots don't reorder their picks. If you look at your league, Circle of Zero got their #3 pick in the 3rd round. So they might blunder on to a good pick, but are more likely to grab a bad pick that might be an unknown to you.

Getting relegated is a lot worse than having mediocre draft picks.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke

I am new but obviously have a lot to learn on these drafts. Are there any threads on assessing draft list players?

It burns me up that better players than the one I picked in the first went in the second round.

Not complaining mind you as much as I want to learn.

Actually, the real reason is a bit more prosaic. In young leagues teams usually haven't done extensive scouting during the season. Plus, teams with computerized owners draft at random. That makes it possible for a really good player to slide all the way to the middle of the second round.

Well I joined midway through last season so I obviously could not do extensive scouting but I did have information on 17 or 18 players. Maybe I did not have information on the players that have MVP or superstar potential. Or maybe I read the information wrong.

But it does annoy me to see players going in the second round with better potential than the guy I got in the first round.

I'm just trying to find a way to narrow the gap IF the error was reading the information given and not that I did not have the information on the player.

Unfortunately, that's the way it works when you draft (mostly) blindly. I presume most of these 18 guys were only scouted once. That's really very little information for a pool of 48 players -- and a good reason for the skilled guys to end all over the place.

You can fix this with investing more in scouting next season.
