that, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you people all have only about 12 guys on your team. I know, that's what the NBA does, but I'm pretty sure that players in the NBA are capable or starting more than 2 out of every 3 games. Also, there is the problem of training players. If you want to train a player correctly, you have to start him at 2 or 3 different positions during the season. How do you get around both of these problems and still have enough starters to win?

In terms of only 12 or so players per team, check out some of the top teams in this league in terms their starting line-ups for league games, who their backups are in those game, and what type of line-up they run out in meaningless scrimmages once out of the cup.

In terms of playing a trainee at different position during the season - here is one tip. A player can only be trained for 48 minutes max each week. So, if there is 1 game in a particular week that will be either a guaranteed win, even if that player is played out of position - OR - will be a guaranteed loss even if that player is played in his proper position and you crunch-time the game as well, then those are the perfect games in which to play him out of position. You were going to win anyway, or lose anyway, so might as well get some long term training benefit out of the week - in addition to the guaranteed win/loss.

And as someone who grew up in the DC metro area as a kid, this was definitely my favorite song when young.

Your opening montage is a slow motion display of various players hitting jumpers, going to the hole, stepping up on the defensive end etc

Cue https://youtu.be/5fw0yaEHdXI

Announcer: as the slaughterhouse returns to action following the all Star hiatus we come to the part of the season where those on top look to sprint out of sight while others who are outside of the playoff picture look to find their way back in.

The Generals and grizzlies meet in such an example of the latter. Though Wadsworth does get the advantage of home and a lot less ground to cover

The nation and the mavs tussle to see who is making more progress towards the postseason

The bunnies and masters square off in a contest between two teams who need a victory to stay on the inside track towards the playoffs.

Round 2 looks to avoid a surprise from the spiders and to stay atop club fed

The kitties and dogs duel in a rematch of the finals from season 41.

And in a battle between the teams who faced off in the final back in '31Deronimo looks to continue their charge against suspect Spike

In a possible relegation series preview the stormz and blizzards will battle

And in the free pass lane the pistons will keep on pumping against the tanking daggers

Sybil will get her says, the transfer tickers is rocking quite a bit and we will look at the new arena designs so stick and stay as it's all on the way as it's time again for BB2NIGHT

About the 'Skins

Gibbs used to call Joe Washington "The Little Guy", but it was Theismann who had the nickname "Little Joe". Yeah, Riggo's personal life was an embaressment, at times, but I used to love to watch him play. I used to have a picture of him bulldozing through seven Atlanta Falcons defenders who could not bring him down. (He got over 170 yards that game.) The year those two retired, I never looked at football the same way again.
As for the team name, you have to remember, back in the 60's, 70's and even early 80's, no one was doing anything to honor the Native Americans. Even Hollywood was casting Itallians to play the role of Indians in Western movies. Theismann said that he felt a special sense of pride every time he put on the helmet because he was representing the Native American people. He also said that he met several Native Americans who appreciated it. Two problems with that, though. One, the term "Redskin" is a derogatory term, not a compliment. Two, in the mid 80's, Native Americans stepped into the public eye and basically said "No, we don't feel honored by any of this. Please stop. We actually find it quite insulting". That was the game changer. From that moment on, such teams are no longer doing any of this to honor anyone. Originally, it was done for good reasons and all. But things have changed, and it's time for it to stop. If you ask me, I think they should change the name to "The Hogs", the old nickname of the offensive line. They could also sell a whole lot of bacon at the snack bar.

About the 12 man roster

In this game, you can only play a starter twice a week. So, after those five starters burn themselves out, you only have seven guys left to play that third game. That doesn't seem like enough. How are you guys getting past this problem? Are you just overworking the back-ups? By the way, I'm not so much conerned with how quickly I can get back to D3. I'm more concerned with being ready for it when I do get here again.

A lot of us run out scrubs for 48 for bots and scrimmages. Some even just send out 5 guys total. Can hurt in the cup, but that's just a crapshoot anyway. I've lost in the 2nd round and final 16 with identical teams.

I've heard 'pigskins' bantered about. Hogs Might be offensive to vegans ;).

First a new name must fit the rhythm of the fight song.

Warriors would work, though a little close to home.

Americans fit the cadence.

I am amazed no one has ever named a DC area team the President's. Plus we can go from having the current logo to a picture of George Washington. Or better yet each player gets a different president for their helmet logo.

Senators would be a nice nod to history. And the present performance of the franchise would harken back to a old adage from those days of yore. "Washington, first in war, first in peace, last in the American League, change that to NFC East and you got a perfect synopsis of the current state of the franchise.

Emperor's would be cool.

Imperials would be a nice nod to American manifest destiny.

Then again who are we kidding. Snyder ain't changing the name, south park hit the nail so firmly on the head about this a few years back.

Opening to a black screen then to the following.

"In memory of all those we lost....they will never be forgotten*

September 11, 2001

Cut to a series of players in uniform with an American flag emblem on the right emblazoned underneath in script "in memoriam"

Cue: https://youtu.be/wWruUAkezgk

Announcer: as cross conference play concludes it will again be Crystal blue persuasion taking their measure of club red though this season there was a much more even level of competition between the sides. But tonight is one more chance for teams to further clarify the pecking order going forward.

Deronimo will try to hold serve and to solidify their 2nd place standing against a masters squad currently well ensconced into at least the final club red position.

Slumping Wadsworth does not see their load lighten with a trip to face league leading Diorite .

The bunnies and kitties both need this one to keep pace along their respective playoff paths.

The mavs and dogs meet up in a battle with much of the same at stake.

The Generals will look to continue their recent surge as the struggling blizzards come calling

Stormz will be out to get back on track against tanking Spike

The nation however will look to place the league on notice as they seek to surprise club red leader round 2

And in a battle at the bottom it is the retooling spiders who will look to snap their losing streak against tanking daggers

Sybil will have her say. We will continue our review on the arena choices made by those in the League. And of course we will have a full check of the transfer ticker. So don't turn away even if the TV starts to flicker as it's time again for BB2NIGHT

I just want to put the game, sports, fun and comedy aside for a moment and say...
I'm sorry to all who lost someone on 9/11/01. Often someone can go through the grieving process and think everything is ok until an anniversary brings back the pain. If you're reading this, and that's where you are right now, just remember that you are not alone.
And while we're being serious for a moment, if you live near the Carolinas, keep an eye on the storm. Be safe.

The great Hunter S. Thompson posted this piece in the aftermath of the events of that day. I still read it every year to remind me of the feelings from that day. My folks were out of town and I stopped by on my way to work to bring in the mail. I was about to grab a bowl of cereal and turn on Today, but thought better of it. I get in my car (1994 Ford Escort) and the morning radio guys are like OMG someone just flew a plane into the WTC, then came the second. I immediately switched to NPR and went to the office where I broke the news about what happened as we all sat there watching the aftermath.

We all lost something that day, and that was the world that was before.

Now in regards to Florence. I was down right on the NC/SC boarder yesterday running appointments. Those people range from petrified to ready to party. A guy in front of me in line at the store quips that the 5th horseman of the Apocalypse is in town. When I asked what that means he said Jim Cantore of the weather channel is in town. I live 200 miles inland and it will be a bit of a mess here as loads of rain is on the way and a high pressure system might cause this storm to stall out. I bet Ladson is already in real life bug out mode as is everyone on the coasts of both states. And eastern NC is going to get drilled with flooding. Particularly Greenville and Kinston which are not only River towns but also end up seeing the worst flooding by what comes in from Raleigh which takes 2-3 days to arrive.

As for me, I moved my Raleigh area appointments from Thursday to today and I think the Charlotte run I have for Friday I will try to bump up a day as well. Pretty much every college game is going to be affected, which in the case of my Tar Heels is a good thing because we are an embarrassment.

Your opening montage consist of scenes of teams coming out of the tunnel. Players driving the lane, driving the baseline, hitting the open man on the give and go and other various examples of frenetic kinetic energy.

Cue: https://youtu.be/Yjy2yfLUJSg

Announcer: as season 43 quickly winds it's way to its conclusion it is already time for the return matches.

Over in the blue chips

Deronimo has long pulled from their midseason doldrums and are pace to procure a first round playoff game in the cozy confines of Cassell. While cellar dwelling Cincinnati can start to concern themselves with getting ready to go down.

The pole sitting pistons take a trip to the cave to visit the always dangerous bunnies.

The bulldogs will seek to stymie red hot Greensboro as the Generals are hoping to avenge a bitter opening night defeat and to pull even in the win column with the other playoff hopefuls.

And the nation will try to continue their recent surge against fading stormz.

Over in club fed

The mavs are out to spread the gap from the relegation zone while the blizzards will try to make a stand and close the gap.

Round 2 should see no issues against sputtering Spike.

The kitties look to hold home serve against the grizzlies

And masters appears to have the free lap against the daggers

Sybil will get her sights set on how she sees tonight's action playing out. We of course will have the latest from the transfer ticker. And tonight's point/counterpoint will delve deeper into the current promotion/relegation process. So no matter if it's a bright sunny day or your seeking shelter from the storm there's no need to be forlorn because BB2NIGHT is.....now
