I guess my question about the 1-3-1 revolves around the new GE. In 2-3 zone, your PG and SG are your outside defenders. In the 3-2 zone, the SF is added to your perimeter defense.

In 1-3-1, you have essentially 4 outside defenders, right? So you want to have decent OD on PG, SG, SF & PF...

What about pace? In the game manual 3-2 and 2-3 zones are described as having slow pace. Does that have anything to do with overall pace of the game, does it slow down the opposing offense or is it correlated to something else?

Btw, any ideas on the best way to counter a 1-3-1 defence? My interior players are not very good scorers, their inside shot isn't great, so I'm reluctant to try "look inside" or "low post" that would rely too much on them scoring near the basket

The obvious offense would be Look inside, or low post. If your team is mostly dependent on outside scoring, i would suggest Princeton offense. It is a mix of both outside and inside scoring, with very little mid range shots. Because, you cannot score too well inside, i would imagine players would drive in and kick out, well at least in real life, allowing for easier outside shots. Not sure if it works the same in the GE though.
