game shape at the start of the season (for 4 league games for teams) is always tough as I have the impression that the shape of the players is not just looking back 1 week, but 2 or even 3 weeks.
The first week every player has 7, but then the players should raise in shape, except that many didn't play in the last week of the previous season, causing many players to drop, or stay steady at best.

about the 72 minutes... well, I think in the meantime everyone in Belgium must know my opinion about that...
Sammy played exactly 48 minutes for most weeks last season and has been at shape 9 for most of the time.
Also this early in the season he was one of the few that got up to 8, and I expect him to go to 9, and be mostly 9 or 8 for the remainder of the season, by just playing 48 minutes...
I'm not going to test it, but I even think that if I wuld give him between 70 and 75 each week, he would have less shape then with his 48 minutes.

And now I run away before everyone covers me with forumposts telling diffrently. ;þ

hm, I think you misunderstood.

I was reacting on the fact that someone said:

I will give him 72 minutes this week ... SO .. . his shape will be up next week.

5 or less indeed is lack of minutes played in both first weeks of the season. That's prety sure. (or way to many)

I think it's stupid to give any player more then 70 minutes...because they all need to be in a good GS...
And in the case of an NT player...if he plays 75 minutes a week, his GS will drop (or the chance is higher that his GS drops) and he will become a normal player, and not the superstar in your team (he has to perform on the field to...but not to much...)

I'm trying to give all my players 55-60 max 70 if I really have to...but I always keep an eye on the 48 minute minimum.
(p.s. Heye played for 54 minutes this week, so he'll have a good GS for the next (NT) game)

--> the general message:
train your players well, so that they can replace each other without a difference in quality...try to give them 48 minutes...but not more then 65 (60), so that they all have the good GS, and that they could give that little bit extra in the next game...

Another point: if your NT superstar gets injured, the other players could replace him
+
more minutes = more chance of injuries!

that was me. the reason is simple. I used him at the bench for the first game, but it was an easy victory for my team and he played for 24 minutes as PF.
But I'm gonna train passing for him and he still needs 48 minutes as PG tomorrow. Normally I use the players for 60-70 minutes per week. Anyway, it seems to me 72 minutes is still ok for getting GS=8.
