in my first season, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

does the MVP vote have any practical game play impact (such as increased merchandise sales), or is this merely a matter of bragging rights, as seems to be the case for the Allstar game?

There are 32 judges. Each judge submits a list of 5 players, with the most deserving at the top.
First on the list receives 5 pts, 2nd gets 4 pts, 3rd gets 3 pts, 4th gets 2 pts and last gets 1 pt.
Player who has the most points wins MVP.

i like the change ebcause with the old date, the MVP wasn't that "visible because you had to go back in the season to get the results.

but i have a question about the calculations, was the PO games part of the calculations before, because this time we had the first time an MVP which didn't reach the PlayOff? Or was the reason for it, our balanced league?

Yes, it seems that the playoff games were taken into consideration when calculating MVP last season.
That is what prevented non-playoff players to get MVP. The more you advanced in the playoffs, the more stats you gathered and the more chance you had for MVP.

I think a better way is to take standings into consideration. Or it's like saying Kevin Love is MVP.

Since no one actually answered your question.... the judges vote for 5 players each from 1st choice to 5th choice then points for place are added up to see who gets MVP. So if you had a player with a 3 under the 4 and a 6 under the 5 column that means your player got 3 4th place votes and 6 5th place votes
