But how come my guy with sensational FT shoots so well. I mean 95.5 is like a hall of fame percentage(in reality), that's the issue, it seems quite uneven, or maybe just not seeing it from the right point of view

make your conclusion about more free throws, and his percentage would be down. it isn't so unlikely that an 80-85% free throw shooter will hit 21 of 22. And sensational isn't that bad either.

Maybe after three pops in JS you get a secondary pop in FT. This way JS correlates to FT% like it does in real basketball.

and that's a skill that should be strictly related to FT shooting.

How do you figure? A free throw is a free throw, not a jump shot.

Yes, but I've never seen a good jump shooter who's an awful FT shooter

It's even more ridiculous that he has a 370k$ wage. Even Shaq or... any 5-year-old kid can do better than him.

But even Shaq trained FT ;-) Meanwhile this player never tried. So he never scored - it's elementary ;-)
If player (or his owner) doesn't want to train FT we can't put gun to his head and force him to train ;-)
In real life we can see crazy players too, like for example Manute Bol, who was probably only man on the world who made more blocks than points in career ;-) So if somebady in BB wants to have freak player, he should get him ;-)

Well for what it is worth, I have a PG who is pretty decent in all stats except freethrows.

Season 15 = 0-74
Season 16 = 1-18

The team had a kegger, and got drunk in celebrating his first freethrow.

Good player but now just a benchwarmer headed out the door due to freethrow inabilty. I could believe something like this out of a low post player, but pretty stupid seeing stats like this gor a guard. Oh well, the world is an imperfect place and IF a frog had wings it wouldn't womp it's ass every time it jumped.

While I admit that 0% FT is not the most realistic thing in the world, let's not forget this is a game, and for the game to work, some things have to be altered and adjusted. If the developers were going for realism, every player would have had at least 50% FT and nobody would ever train it. Thus, eliminating this interesting part of the game.. If you're not happy with your FT percentage, please train FT once in a while...

Only way for a professional b-ball player to shoot 0% is to handcuff him behind the back and blindfold him.

if you do this with Dirk Nowitzki, he still shoots 70% from the line :)

This is an old argument here. I think we've seen some constructive ideas in the Suggestions Forum in the past, such as incorporating JS or JR training with FT training, etc. A couple of years or so ago I know that I've wanted to have height be a factor in FT training (there is science behind the idea relating to the angle of the shot and the resulting minor axis of the ellipse the ball must pass through, and I'm sure data backing up performance of FT% vs. height has been looked up in real numbers in basketball data analysis). The basic idea behind the history of complaints is that it just doesn't make sense that a player can be a great outside shooter from the field but then not hit FT very well. Sure, the players with this highest FG% also tend to have lower FT%, but that's just because the players who shoot well from the field tend to the be the players only shooting inside shots (see Tim Duncan, Shaq, etc.). I'll agree that FT shooting is part mental and it's not really a perfect equivalent to shooting from the field, but come on! In BB, it's possible to have a player with 16+ JS and JR, yet atrocious FT%. I think the complaints are about wanting a reality check in this matter.

Otherwise we all love the game. Except that we hate that we spend too much time of our real lives here. sigh.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

Maybe this FT studs are all former soccer players who haven´t been told they actually should shoot with their hands instead of using their feet to swish the ball trough the hoop...:)
