I could imagine it would be cool to fill up the south american leagues with lower division spaniards, but to dismantle smaller countries... I dont know...

It would be the manager's choice to join the regional league or not. And while you might think that Indians and Pakistanis wouldn't want to be in the same league (I wasnt suggesting they be on the same team???), maybe they would love to have the chance to take one another on in a competitive game.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Why would someone want to join a league where he would be put in a lower division if he could be the top dawg of his country?

what nationality would the draftees have?

dozens of new problems and unsolved questions...

Answer to question 1.

For competition. I don't want to be the best of Country A, B, or C. I want to be the best in Eastern/Western/Northern/Southern hemisphere, or whatever region I'm in. Some country's are very small, and have an even smaller basketball or gaming crowd.

Answer to question 2.
You would make the computer randomly generate a birth country based on the region your in. IF country A has 80% of the teams from the league in it, then 80% of the Rookies would be from that country, etc. Its really not that difficult or big of a problem.

I like this idea.

I think it is pretty cool to have so many countries, and I would rather cap the big countries to and fill the smaller ones instead of killing the micro communities (like I said, offer spanish speaking users to join South America, maybe Africa for the french and english speaking).

In the medium sized communities the competition varies from league to league, I was in a Div II that was very weak and would never trade such a league for a multi-level pool. But it is true maybe there are users that prefer heavy competition, but I dont know if this suggestion is favorable to those types of managers.
