and to have the audience affect not only at the fact that you have a "zombie" in your team (one that is not playing at all, and/or has low potential), but at those two components - skill, and playing time.


thats already the case, the player drafted generate more income then a player who isn't drafted, butthe basic amount is calculated with stats, playing time and salary(~skill).
So it is not the current case.
The parameters of skills and playing time should have higher value for (your own) drafted players than any other player.

2) There will always be a difference between a any player acquired by draft or by trade.


the lakers didn't saw Shaq as their kid, and nowe and nash would be popular in dallas if he was drafted by them like Kidd.

Raul will always be regarded by the fans much more than Ronaldo in Real-Madrid football-club. As simple as that.

the difference is most likely that Raul, is a role Model, played longer there was an idol of there own NT and Ronaldo is seen as an arrogant actor for many fans. Raul is much more popular then Ronaldo, most likely everywhere out of portugal ... Even in Schalke(his new club) he is fan favorite, and is already more popular then Neuer was (even before their transfers) or Höwedes are even when they come from the club. Raul just have an excellent charakcter combined with skills.

No, my first comment (not an argument) is correct.

My second comment was pretty bad because I did not make clear to what exactly I was referring to. The effect I meant is the rival effect. There is no negative impact in acquiring a rival's player when compared to acquiring the player of some other team.

Turn facts it as much as you like - a player who is part of the club (equal a drafted player) will always get more attention from his fans, than a player with the same skills, that played for the club the same amount of time.

A promissing potential straight out of the draft will get more attention comparing to one with a current better skill.

This attention is good, if that player is getting minutes and evolving, and bad if he is being thrown away or not used.

I get what Pini is saying and i think that probably 95% of what he is suggesting is currently implemented.

If you draft a player and keep him and train hima nd play him, you get more merchandise $$$ HOWVER, im not sure that this affects whether more fans will come and attend games. It may affect this in a roudnabout manner, such as better Fan Survey = more fans attending games.
But i dont think it is currently implemented in a 'you played your draftee the previous game therefore more fans attend the next game' implementation.

What i would suggest though, is that this level of merchandise benefit be increased to be something more substantial. Ive got 3 players on my roster who i drafted and ive had for 5+ seasons now, one is a starter, two bench guys who play most games. Yet my merchandise level is only about $5k per week above the league average, which i reckon is poor and it should be more.

Interesting! Thanks for that comparative info.

So looking at it now, im about $4k above the league average, with the 3 draftee's on my roster. ( I also have another guy on my roster whom i was given when i first started playing, 7 season ago - but lets leave him out of the equation)

$4k is about 13% of the current leage average. which.. i dunno. seems low to me and in terms of this thread, it doesn't really give much incentive to train a drafted player, which is the OP's main idea.
But we are in different league levels. If i promote this year, it will be interesting to see how much it increases by and as a percentage of league average.

I guess it just seems like there is a feature called 'merchandising' and players do all this hard work in order to receive benefit for it, but really is the benefit that great?
im happy though that you are getting a higher percentage and it means more for you. :)

First, I think that it should both - attendance and merchandise, but it is not really important - money is money...

One point you've missed - the level (skill and potential) should also be part of the formula, as fans will not be exited to see just any draft player playing, and as that may cause users to invest more at the draft (which is a main feature in BB-managing).

One last thing - like other affects on this game (like training) - the affect is expected to be lower as the draft player becomes veteran.
A team w/o a draft player will not get this extra X$.
A team with a draft player from current draft will get those X$. [Two players means more $... etc.]
A team with a draft player from previous draft (1 season ago) will get less than those X$.

Doesn't 10K or even 20K sounds very few (comparing to the total income of a team) for having so much drafted players you are using?
For me it sounds just that.

And again, I want to point out again that I will also expect that the income from the same drafted player will get lower as the time passes.
