Not shocking?! Where can you find a team that

1.) has a HOF 18 year old in their starting group of scrubs.
2.) has known enough to train that player from the start.
3.) does not know enough to manage gameshape so that the National Team will look at him.

I don't think there are too many of them out there. Not saying impossible, but rare.

often 1 leads to 3, who would lead the scout to help then with 2. Also the principle to train the youngest player, isnt that bb specific or weird that you didn't figure it out himself.

I got lucky and started with HoF and Superstar 18 year olds on my starting team. I read some help threads when I started and got them in on training right away.

Of course, it took me a while to figure out how to train them well, so they aren't as good as they could be. I don't think the NT had yet started to assign individual scouts to prospect when I started at the end of Season 11, or I'm sure I would have gotten all the advice I could want on how best to train a 5'11" HoF player. ;)

It's not a strategy, it's definitely a farm team.

As for the original question, this team either drafted the player himself or bought the player as an 18 yr old. I'm thinking the latter. Sometimes transfers and draft histories fall off the list when the other team involved goes BOT.

I figured he was born on the team, put up for sale and then reconsidered, with the seller making sure to put in the winning bid.

yes this player definitely started on his team. this team started in season 14 no way he had 700,000 dollars to spend on a player.

His first ever game was for the team he is still on. It is just probability, some teams have to start with an 18yo HoFer. As an original player he would give the team a large merchandising bonus. Just a few weeks ago his salary would have been a lot cheaper, big men have their wages go up a lot. This player is probably his managers favourite and so he gets a lot of special treatment and care. He was trained well from day one always playing 48+ each week although I suspect his REB is much greater than anything else looking at how much PF he has played.

I have a few questions.

How did he purchase this player from himself?
Player History says: Transfer 10/16/2010 14 Purchased from Honolulu Purple Tide for $ 713 000

How can he afford this player when the team only makes about $50k per week in attendance?

Aren't farm teams illegal?

As an original player, he would have been eligible to receive 97% of the purchase price of the player when sold. So if someone else bid $700,000, that would show up as $679,000 that he would have available to bid. So if he had even $50k in his account, he'd have been able to top a bid of $700k with $713k. (Nevermind that it has to go up two percent so the numbers don't match up precisely).

For your other question, yes, farm teams aren't illegal. ;) (If it's someone opening a second account, of course, that's quite illegal, but if someone has it in their hearts to join this game and then train up a super player for their own or any other nation's NT and not give two farts about anything else, that's well within the rules.)
