You are multiple Japan champion. Did you sacrifice your life for BB ? I don't think so. It's the same for a lot of great managers throughout BB.

You miss one guy, that's life.

It's a lot more than one guy. hehe I would say that this measure would create an even playing field for all players despite whatever is going on in there lives and make the game more user friendly. That should be what a developer strives for.

I can definitely understand the ad revenue angle. That's difficult. Perhaps a friendly game would keep more people interested and thus make up for the revenue loss, but I don't have no tangible evidence to support that statement. From a business perspective the thought process of "ad revenue is more important than improvement" is short sighted if you want to see this game continue to be successful.

Perhaps this could be a great supporter feature. It would encourage people to buy supporter. The only con is that it might be too powerful of tool and create a competitive advantage for supporters. On the other hand, pushing the envelope on the competitive advantage policy might be okay in the sense that it would make being a supporter more attractive.

WIthout implementing an autobid...I doN't see why the BBs just doN't do what other MMO managers do, sell ingame money for real money. It would suck and ruin the game...but to me every auction worth being involved in expiring while I sleep...kinda ruins the game too.
Uuggghhh!! With or without context, the notion of BuzzerBeater selling in game currency for real world currency is painful to think about. :-(

Take any game in the world, video game or not... wait, take any activity in the world: those who put the more time into it are those who become the best. That's fair to reward those who are ready to sacrifice more than the others to become better, and it also applies here.
Once you'll get your auto-bidding system, will you turn to real life basketball and ask to forbid people to train more than one hour per week because you don't want to do more than that?

If you spend more time on BB, you have a better chance at getting better, period.
(and there's also the money it brings to the BBs anyway)

If I called Michael Jordan and said he had to meet me at the park in 3 minutes or he loses....would that make me a better basketballer or just mean the contest was SCHEDULED FOR AN INCONVENIENT TIME.

But if you called Michael Jordan and said he had to meet you, wherever he wanted, in 3 days, he would have clearly enough time to prepare for this meeting if he want to.

That is not skill, that is not being 'better'...that is being online when they are not.

That is being ready to invest more of yourself into this game than the others.

The bottom line is: autobidding would kill this game by taking most of the money the BBs earn via the adds out.

An autobid system would eliminate the necessity of logging on to log on and bid at strange hours. It in no way changes the dynamic of time investment and success. The best in BuzzerBeater have undoubtedly spent enormous amounts of time learning mechanics and minutiae of BuzzerBeater. If anything, the autobid system would increase competition by putting more focus on the game and less on bidding on players in the final 3 minutes of an auction.

The bottom line is: autobidding would kill this game by taking most of the money the BBs earn via the adds out.
I understand the ad revenue angle. An autobid system doesn't really change that the transfer list is a large part of the game. The last 3 minutes would see a large decrease, the effects on the rest of the transfer list functions are unknown. From a business perspective, ad revenue over innovation and user friendliness is short sighted. Innovation and user friendliness increases customers/users and makes it easier to be successful as a business.
Would an autobid system "kill the game"? I don't think it realistically would kill it.
Would an autobid system be a crazy game changing improvement to user friendliness that BB would retain users significantly more players? Probably not, but I think it'd be a step in the right direction.
