Thanks, hrudey.

9 additional overtimes? Yikes, I guess stamina must come into play by then!

unlike HT's "coin flip" after what was it, 22 rounds of penalties (or did they shift that to lower team ID at some point?).

Official answer is "coin flip". I've got no idea what the reality is! :)
I like the sound of additional 5 minute overtimes, sounds like a fair way to split evenly matched teams. I guess it wouldn't work very well in a low scoring game like soccer (and definitely wouldn't in a match simulation as abstract/simplistic as HT!).

One thing that helps cause a differentiation is that the fouls from the fourth quarter and previous OTs carry over, so teams are more likely to already be in the bonus,...

Ok, another tangential noob question: what do the foul / bonus indicators in the match viewer mean?

If we were playing, and my team commits four personal fouls in a quarter (or 4th quarter plus all overtimes), your bonus light would come on. From that point forward, if my team commits a foul (other than an offensive foul), the player fouled will get two free throws. While a team is not in the bonus situation, only shooting fouls cause FTs (normally two FTs for a regular shot, three for a three point foul, and one if the basket was made and a foul occurred).

Are you trolling dude. Looking at your roster and results I don't see how you can't be.

I'm not trolling (would be a pretty weird way to troll, no?).
I've learnt a wee bit about what skills are useful on different types of player, but I don't honestly know very much about how the matches are actually calculated.

Actually no , this is perhaps the most common type of all trolling. I still dont get how you can sustain or rather have put your self in a position to have the finances to sustain a monster 2million a week roster , yet the basics of the basics like fouls and overtime you ask. This is why i genuinely felt you were trolling. If that's not the case then i do apologise but it definetly is very strange to me.

He's legitimate. The guy knows a lot about Hattrick and has a quite nice team there as well (or so I recall, as I'm mostly absentee there now). He's been mostly on autopilot here. But he's definitely not pulling your leg (or taking the piss or extracting the Michael or whatever it would be).

Ok perhaps i need to ditch the siege mentality on the internet forums. I am overly paranoid it seems.

No need to apologise, I know it probably looks strange.
I've never seen a game of basketball in my life, so I don't really know much of "the basics". As hrudey said, I only started playing BB because I heard it had some similar mechanics to Hattrick.
Being in a small league meant I banked a significant amount of cash without even really trying.
I've got a good mentor who helped me find my way around what skills different players need. He's very patient with me, but I don't want to test that patience by asking too many noob questions!
I've learnt a lot this season, but I think I've still got a lot to learn.

I know what you mean here, I was in the same position a season or so ago myself, it just seems a bit weird to ask a question about something you know has to be a very simple thing especially after getting more advanced tips, some things just get assumed.
