I think there is a chance it's possible, and that keeps me from firing him. He might retire, he might not. 360 ain't that much.

But he doesn't have the right to quit, because he reached everything he can??

(on the sideline: it might solve some of the oversupply on the market (at least it seems there is))

I am gonna keep an eye out for him over next few seasons. Even if his skills are all ones I am gonna scoop him up for a while. He will never retire!

Fire him anyway. If someone tries to buy him, just outbid them. worst case scenario, he's back on your team and you've only lost a few thousand dollars.
And besides, at this time in the season, it's very unlikely that a 37 year old goes for 10 times his salary.
