I like the idea, and if someone wants to win by 50 instead of 30 and screw their training, so be it.

I totally agree with you Juice...

Do you really want your star out on the court running up the score with players like this (791676) on the other team?

he's not looking nasty, he's just chewing a buzzard's bone. ;)

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

You can not blame your coach for a choice that is yours. you decided to activate the option "let the coach decide". otherwise if you ask your coach to stricly stick to your choice, even with a big lead your top players will stay on the court.
For me it is a false problem.

my coach didn't do that, even with strictly follow deph chart he will bring the second lineup with a high lead.

And this changng tactic leads to curious decisions, so i making my lineup for the game this evening optimized for a high loss becuase i don't want to risk that my coach takes my trainees out of the game - and in my scrimmage it is the same procedere.

You can allways try and register only 8 player give or take to the game . . .

I do it a lot in my scrimming (I was didn't want to risk any of the stars)

One time my couch gave a "lucky fan" some minutes !

yeah, but if i register 8 players and it comes to a blow out, sometimes the starters without backup get replaced ... if i play with 8 players and loose that happens only if they are in foul trouble.

The idea when you want to win by a huge difference in order to improve your point average is also to win the game...

If you have only 8 players registered you simply make them play more (have the Lucky fan appear even) that won;t help you get a big difference, and might even make you lose a game that you would otherwhise have won.

Yeah - I third it...

It doesnt have to be for the end of the season it can be thrown in gradually at any time... (doesnt make sense to TIE and try win by loads) but in games against opposition that might TIE against you a normal and decimate order to win by 50+ will teach others perhaps not to try & store enthusiasm!

If this then got linked to fan attendence it would become even more interesting...if normalling/ct'ing and winning by 50+ got more fans coming each week than winning by 5 TIE - I'd do everything possible to get more bums on seats and more $$$$

Definitely. Great idea.

It actually helps with the training because you have more control over what the coach does.

There is one problem though. From what I understand, the real goal this isn't necessarily (only) to protect your starters -- it is also trying to make the game a bit more newbie friendly, and protect brand new teams from getting beat by 80 points.

I agree that there are games in which one would like that the blowout rule didn't kick in, but that might defeat its original purpose.
