I feel like this is a 'bait' thread (upsydrome has to be in the top 3 even now), but entertaining nevertheless. :D

For me, teams before seasons 8/9 are kinda exempt from this. The league wasn't developed - guys who won at beginning were the ones that started in NBBA. I also have no idea about teams from seasons 26-31, I was asleep at the wheel (sorry ozone).

Silverbacks were fantastic because they were successful without LI - there was no other team that was as successful with 'outside' tactics in my time.

Having said that, Heathens were just before my NBBA time and they were utterly dominant with outside game.

Funny thing is that KDB version 2 was incredible team on paper, but brian never seemed to go all in on the NBBA when he probably could've walked it.

Love Stogey23 and his Bulls but I don't think they were transcendent. LMA were just fantastic and competitive for such a long time.

I'm still slightly annoyed that I got bored after 3 in a row as my team was young enough to win another 2 and would've dominated this list! ;)

I got 2 lists, quality of team:
1. Lake Merritt Arrows
2. Upsyndrome
3. KDB v2
4. Heathens
5. Silverbacks / Funky Town v1 ;)

And personal faves:
1. Silverbacks (eww (32422685), but , (59227970) yay!)
2. Burlington Mountain Goats
3. Lake Merritt Arrows
4. Arizona Desert Storm
5. Chicago Bulls / Salisbury Auerbachs

Haha! Actually, no, that was never my intent. I thought it would be interesting to see what the general consensus is regarding this topic and to compare my list to others. Much like Jason, you have a very interesting perspective bcuz of your NBBA pedigree. I'm actually surprised by any list that KDB is not #1, but that's interesting.

Quite frankly, at this point, I think it's premature to list my team in this discussion. In my opinion, much like the NBA HOF selections, it takes the appreciation that comes with time before a team can be accepted onto a list such as the "GOAT." KDB, Ice BC, Bulls and the Lake show are my top four teams of all time, easily. When people compare MJ to Lebron or Kobe, they always point to his 6 championships, the matter in which he accomplished this task (3peat x2), and the strenght of competition, as to why he is the greatest ever. I believe the same goes for this discussion. I'm a titles guy, and I love the dominance of dynasties...people remember dynasties (Repeats, 3peats+); NBBA, Cup and B3 success is the bases in which my list is ranked upon.

A team I would like to mention is The King and I. I probably overlooked them in my top 10 due to lack of titles, but their B3 run was top 3; lead by NT greats such as Ackers, Soto and Reedy...they won 2 titles w/ an inspirational semifinals B3 run (1 of only 3 US teams to do so; the other two being KDB/Bulls). More than ever before, I loved how they represented the US in the B3 with 4 NT greats. That was one aspect that separated his team from others, and what made his run even more rememberable in my eyes.

My Rankings:

1. King Drive Ballers---Best all around BB'er ever. Great team(s).
2. Silverbacks---Phenomenal defense, great outside attack.
3. Upsyndrome---Regardless of not having a deep resume', has quickly put together perhaps the bes USA team ever, and is dominant home or away, loaded with USA NTers'
4. Heathens---Read #2
5. Funky Town Fire---Tanked too soon...probably would have been #2 on this list if he kept his team together 2-3 more seasons. See 93/94 Phoenix Suns :-(
6. Lake Merrit---Coco was the Emmitt Smith of the NBBA. Not great at anything, but good at everything, benefited from longevity.
7. Bullish Mentality--For a few seasons had one of the most dominat teams in the USA.
8. Chicago Bulls---I am not sure he would have been as successful if he started playing this game in Seaso 10, but he was one of the early guys to dominate and was the motivation for guys like Ice Storm, Brian, and Coco to try as hard as they did.
9. Ice Storm---Read #8
10. A tie between like 10 teams could make #10, and several active teams will likely move into the top 9 at some point.

I just wanted to add, the ones that started first were the pioneers who lead the way for us all and that's a challenge in on it's own. For me, I value that greatly. Moreover, I made my BB debut in s8 in the midst of the KDB v Ice Storm BC battles for supremacy and that, complied with their BB pedigree, was huge in my decision. Likewise, my brother started a few seasons earlier than I, and he was on the Bulls hype train. Because of this, I'm curious as to what the general consensus is for managers of seasons past and present. KDB was everyone's number 1 choice for years, but has his dominance, and managers alike, transcended time?

I think so. KDB was one of the pioneers of the game, but then he tanked for a bunch of seasons, and did it again (and better) in a different era of BB.

Also, for what it;s worth..Brian was my mentor when I first started...and although we run very different tactical teams...Much of what he taught me way back when I benefit from today.

Shikago was mine, but come to find out in recent seasons...he was trolling me the whole time.
