Definetively yes. Yes to give a real nationality to utopian players.
There are many ways to do this, but I think that they can improve some actual problems.
I wrote one possibility some time ago (272589.1), but sure there are better ideas.
Regards

There are enough players on each country

There is no need to add anymore.

The reality doesn't suck, just has no fix.

If you double a micronations player pool it would be huge. If you do an inverted distribution, most players could be micronation citizens, thus balancing the game/leveling the field would be possible. Gibe small nations sthg to be excited about.

Small nations excited about something?

Yeah you have an "merging" proces coming sometime in the future...

You want more players for you country?

I want "more money" for my division

so let's balance a bit

make all the reveneus equal

starting with the lowest division abailable with human managers

here in Spain we've got V division, so every country having 1 division with humans manager should get the same revenue as our V divison does

if your country has 3 divisions the count starts at III division and so on.

5 4 3 2 1
4 3 2 1
3 2 1
2 1
1

Then you can nationalize as many players as you like, damn even I don't care if San Marino gets the same amount of players as Italy

This is just one idea, I'm sure there are going to be lots of coments on it. I'm not saying another word about.

Staying on topic: You cannot take more than you have.

Howl to the Moon, you won't regret it.

Don't see much profit in discussing one of the worst (in my opinion) Ideas for BuzzerBeater ever but ...

How would you gain more money with this? Actually, I guess you would start to complain soon if this would happen because the Transferprices for Div 3/4/5 players would rise

Would be easier if BBs just changed the Rules to "Players not from US/China/Spain/Italy/France are not allowed to register and play"

Even the possibility Tatamka presented would most likely help MicroNations (well at least their NTs), not sure if it would be a great Idea to flood the Market with MicroNation players, I guess quite a few play because they at least can easily train and keep one or more Players for their National Team even if they don't have much competition in their league

So in real life national teams, players can be brought on to the national team if they were nationalized for a set about of time.
For example for the SA rugby team to be eligible for the national team you must play on a club team within South Africa for 3 years, then you are "naturalized".
You could do a similar thing in BB. Where Utopia players need to play 3 o r4 seasons for a team in a nation to be eligible to play for the NT team... and to denote that a player is naturalized the flag is half Utopia, half whatever nation he is naturalized on. However players would only be able to play for one NT team, so if a US naturalized Utopian player played one game for the NT, he is ineligible to play for another NT. The player would be eligible for said US NT if he transferred clubs, but if within those 4 years he is never capped, his naturalization is reset.
Just a thought:).

Difficult to bring up a situation in real life when we're talking about a fictitious country. Personally I don't think Utopian players should even be able to leave Utopia, let alone play for another country.

While this seems like an idea that will benefit small countries, it isn't. If you saw a Utopian 18yo on the transfer list with good starting skills, you'd see a frenzy over the bidding and likely an astronomical fee. Who would that be good for? Why, the Utopian team that's selling him does best out of it doesn't it? That's an unfair advantage. And based on sheer numbers it's unlikely to be a micro nation team that bought him.
