Are we talking about PG who pays at PG position

or PG who plays at SG position

Wich ofensive tactic are they using?

How strong are the oponents defense?

There are so many factors that I've read all and find it almost meaningless

Why do tactics matter here?

In my league some of the best scorers are PGs.

you are the one pointing them out ...

PG as the position in the Game engine
¿?

PG by salary is one thing VERY diferent than wich kind of player is playing at the PG position during a game.

If you play a PG, SG, SF, PF, anc C by position assigned by salary

into

PG, SG, SF, PF, anc C position into the game

and also with the same guys you try all the ofensive tactics you will find that sometimes one position scores more than the others...

That's a fact

I'm stoping here. Have a nice day.

"Scores" implies "tactic"

If your PG has better driving and inside shot than the defensive skills on the defender and your tactic is Look Inside .. for sure you PG is going to shot and score more ... ¿it's not obvious?

The fact that a role in the starting five is to dribble and pass doen't mean he can't shot (stephen curry, Russel Westbrok, and on and on)

Also

The position of PF the main role is to help rebound and defense inside ... does it means he can't pass? NJo, it doesn't mean it (Pau Gasol, Draymon Green and many others)

Theres no point talking about this.

You can hace a PG like Ricky Rubio, to pass the ball as imaginable and inimaginable as possible or you can have a Zack Lavine playing at PG just to see him shooting his shoes out.

The main role still the same.

So whatever the tactic you're going to use, you're going to need one profile or another. Even if you know a bit about you rivel you will see that putting some guy with a role way out of position in the game you will get a better result

I think for the last 2 years in the NBA they called it "Go for the small ball" using 3 Guards and 1 SF and 1 PF ...

Few years Ago there was a fantastic ofensive triangle using 2 7 footers and a talented SG ...

So...

A PG scores like a SG IF you want and he can.

(1) I am wrong from the beginning, my league is an exception. In most of the teams, SG and SF score more than PG.
I think all things being equal a SG will take more shots and score more than a PG. In fact lately it seems that the SG position is the most affected by the boost to 3pt shooting

(3) Effectively, PG is the most important position and you should pay one third of your salaries to your PG.
PGs are important but it really depends what tactics you're playing and what's the flow on the rest of the team: in some cases you need a PG who can shoot, in others not so much because he will mostly take open shots getting assists from his teammates. And for example if you play patient half of the times you might want to pay whoever is going to take the bulk of the shots.

They key skills at PG (if you don't want a scorer or you don't focus exclusively on LI) are OD and PA and a PG with relatively low JS and JR is going to have a fairly low salary.

PG is the most important position in the NBA. Guards have been helped by the rule changes. It doesn't mean it is or it needs to be the same in this game though.

And does it make them more important players to their teams? Well, YES!

Let's go again ...

Depending on wich tactics you play

Harden last year was a crappy player but a great scorer

This year, new coach new tactics and his doing triple doubles amost each game...

If you don't wanna see it, your problem.

I'm out

(4) Depends on the tactics
(5) Depends on the other 4 players in your team
(6) Depends on the the opponent's defenders
(7) Depends on any combination of (4), (5) and (6)!

Things being equal if you put a player at SG he will usually take more shots than at PG. It might just be that in your league the better guards play at PG.
