Well I still remember this cup game: (71876419). The assist to turnover ratio for both teams amazes me to this day.

If removing the rebounding advantage for inside tactics can be done without changing much of the GE it should be done. After all, that's where outside tactics lose games most of the times, not being able to rebound the misses and giving up a lot of putbacks.

That should be easier to do than changing share of shots taken from 3 point land, without breaking a dozen other things in the process.

Well a big chunk of the guards in this game have both JR and PA punted in order to hold salary down and be salary efficient for LI. Seems like both of those has something to do with that.
Or I could be wrong and it's a totally random event that happens to all such teams.

There's also the problem that outside offenses are just inside offenses with bonuses to outside shooting and penalties to inside shooting. The shot distribution is the same, and if you can't score inside you can't score.

This isn't strictly true, or at least, wasn't ~15 seasons ago when I looked at it. For example, in RnG, 47% of shots come from the guards, vs 36% in LI. On top of that, of those shots, in RnG, >40% of guard shots are from 3 vs only ~22% in LI.

You can certainly argue those splits should be bigger, but they definitely do exist.

All evidence points to the fact that for outside tactics open jump shots have a lower boost compared to guarded ones than than inside tactics have for inside shots. And it might be in large part because of subpar big men shooting long 2s and 3 pointers very well when they are guarded.

But the main problem is that the fouling rate for outside shots in inside tactics seem to be clearly higher than for outside tactics and FT rate is the main issue between different tactics and what makes LI better than the rest. I just lost a playoff game where my opponent playing LI shot 35 FTs in 3 quarters and a half. Changing FT rate across tactics will probably require an overhaul of the GE, so it won't happen.

Adjusting the weight of skills in the ratings (assuming they affect open shot defense) and baseline FG% for certain types of shots shouldn't be as hard though.
