My Big 8 preview teams in order by predicted finish-

petersburg- 395k salary 104 Country Rank
D2 one and done, who is looking to return to D2 next season. A guard heavy lineup but with a veteran center addition David Sarro will make them a more well-rounded threat.

Caerbannog Bunnies- 294k 116 CR
Solid showing last season, but no major moves could mean playoffs but no title.

Cal Bulldogs- 302k 129 CR
Team retooled late last season, likely playoff contender.

Stormz- 318k 143 CR
Added two vets with no players sold off. A safe bet for a middle of the road finish.

Deronimo- 265k 137 CR
What would III.5 be without Deronimo? Luckily, another season which that question will not need to be answered as the team sits safely in the middle.

lakenation- 330k 199 CR
Great starting five, but a weak bench. Still good enough to stay in D3.

Greensboro Generals- 184k 124 CR
Aging roster needs to be addressed. Coachlambini keeps league forum lively and fun.

junkyard jammmers- 187k 274 CR
Sorry, jammmers! Will have to work really hard just to stay out of the last spot. Still has a roster of a good D4 team but overloaded with aging veterans.

watch out for boston barricade..his team plays dirty..
He injured two of my players in the first game of the season lol
Luckily it was just ingame injuries and not weeks

That is the pro rasslin aspect of the game kicking in. A couple of your guys took the "blade" y'all "bumped" like hell for the barricade but in the end you "got over". Got to keep the new guys sheeple engaged ya know bro.

Well the generals got a backdoor cover on the spread ( I would have had Deronimo -12 if I was giving a line). Of course it took a French patient and Arenas going Hawaii five oh to make it happen, book em Danno. But most if that was after matters hadn't been decided. The Generals have all sorts of issues. And not a ton of cash to work with. Story of my BB life. Gonna be a llllooooonnngggg season I'm afraid as the fall schedule could turn into the generals winter of their discontent.

A opening montage of highlights from opening night

Cue https://youtu.be/IrPWkIRWY9U

Announcer: and so the cycle begins anew. Some come into the season with high hopes, some with survival as their aim and others who have know they will have to step up their game to survive the onslaught.

Over in club red

The chefs look to establish themselves quickly at the top of the food chain while former slaughterhouse survivor Michigan Blasters will be trying to avoid going in the always troublesome 0-2 hole.

The stakes are similar for 2 and the Masters as those two tangle once again

The kitties and the mavs match wits with a early leg up going to the winner

While the barricade and stones square off in a effort to avoid slipping too close to the cellar in the early going

While over in the murders row that is the big 8

Pre season favorite Petersburg faces their first road test with a trip to the always yough to win in cave to face the continuing Cinderella story that is the bunnies.

The jamners will have to face the road force blunt of a trip to stormz

The generals look to avoid the looming specter of s 0-2 beginning though a battle with a bulldogs bunch the generals have always found to be a stylistic nightmare might not be the best place to search for those answers.

And the nation looks to capitalize on the momentum from the second half of last season against a Deronimo outfit that is starting to have more questions than answers

Sybil has returned from her sabbatical and will seer into her crystal ball. The transfer ticker is already going great Gonzo and we will see what sorts of steals and deals are being offered. Plus in our season starting edition of vox populi we will look into what the people think will be the teams to look our for in the season ahead. So no matter if the journey is something your excited to start on or if it fills you with dread, no time to go lay down and go to bed, it's time again for BB2NIGHT

The Fire Sale of the Generals does not look good for the future of that franchise staying in D3 since what season 31 ? It has to be hard to part ways with McClain, Irureta, and Skinner. Two of which were best men at each other's wedding I believe. GL Generals.

Great 8 review a week late.

Round 2 333k 89 CR
Team with a lot of promise. Could be a future D2 promotee. No key players over 31. Trainees are over 21 and able to compete.

Fiercekitties 289k 81 CR
Not far behind Round 2. Just sold two players netting roughly 800k. Balanced roster with no clear standouts.

CCMavs 246k 182 CR
I had to move the Mavs up after PG Ionel Constantin was brought in. Might be able to get past first round of playoffs.

Burger Chefs 279k 192 CR
Nice balanced roster with young players to keep team competitive and instant playoff contender.

MastersOfBall 239k 207 CR
Has the roster to be a Great 8 steady team but being a 5th seed could be dangerous.

Redstones 231k 249 CR
Only one player under 30. Should be thinking about a rebuild as Great 8 non-playoff teams have historically short stays.

Michigan Blasters 235k 165 CR
Looking for silver-lining. Should enjoy promotion money, I guess.

It's Webb and Armstead who were best men, though Skinner and McClain both were members of the wedding party at Armsteads, Webb got hitched at the wrong end of a Remington to that horrible piece of trailer trash that you see off in the corner at the post game press conference. Yes, that woman with that greasy looking black hair tied in a bun who is typically wearing a tight pair of Capri's, a tank top, and a Benson and Hedges seemingly surgically attached between her fore finger and middle finger is his old lady. https://youtu.be/FtAYAbDGlU0

As for the departures....oh it breaks Management's heart, that's why they were all placed late night and slightly towards the higher end. But our GM sat them down just before putting them up and said it was just time. I have held to Webb and Armstead to a point where neither has much more than scrap value, and we could use some cash. Though we will be using said cash to find replacements who might keep us from relegation, but the crew we have with the current state of this league is going to be hard pressed to do so.

I think Skinner will move, Inureta might be a stretch, but someone paid upwards of 800 for a player of similar quality so maybe he moves.

As for Karl.... He's a slacker, maybe it's my fault but he never has quite been what his numbers suggest he could have been.

Skinner is solid, but he has holes.

Irureta is interesting but he is a defensive liability.

And with the door closing on Taylor and Strong and with Han entering his prime we got to make a move somewhere.

Tonight Generals fans get a chance to say goodbye, but considering how Cal tends to take our boys to task the fans by the end of the night could well be saying good riddance.

Thanks Coach Lam for the background, I always love reading the great story lines of your players.

Also Thank you Cal for the Great 8 preview. I wanted an unbais point of view of our division. Good to know, I got moved up hehe. I think I am still a couple of pieces and 2 more strong seasons of training away. But, we shall see. Burger Chefs look very strong to me and just as young as my team.

Skinner and McClain are Gonzo. Irureta is still around I will be shocked if anyone give me 350k for that stiff. got my eye on another big man, might have to move Webb over to the 3 and definitely will need another guard, especially one who can play defense because Skinner was so key in that regard. Glad to grit out a victory. Billie and Karl will leave the fans smiling.

(Crowd at the end of Tuesday night)

THANK YOU BILLIE (clap,clap...clap,clap clap) Thank you Billie

THANK YOU KARL (ETC)

THANK YOU ANIBAL

Hardly a dry eye in the house. Big hugs all around at games end. Karl went to midcourt at games end and left a kiss on the famed column emblem and exited into the darkness of the tunnel one last time. Billie didn't leave the bench for about 15 minutes after the game. Lots of fans stopping by for handshakes from the men, hugs from the women and autographs for the kids. "We've had a hell of a run together man" said Armstead, "Come on old friend, there waiting on us, we got the counter set aside over at the Waffle House, hash browns are on me, how you like em? Scattered smothered and covered just like your defensive assignments? C'mon man let's go"

And tonight these three men sit side by side at the international buzzer beater transfer center. Around them sits everyone else awaiting their fate. Some grin ear to ear fat and happy with the knowledge they are about to get a nice size transfer commission (you know, for relocation) some like our trio reminence about the good times they've had and promise to stay in touch. While others, the free agents who's previous teams went under, the marginal players who were cut by their teams, and all others sit there anxiously awaiting to find out if the dream will continue.
