It's probably multiplicative. So if you use a lvl 4 + lvl 4 YT it may be difficult to see but if you use any combination of lvl 6 and 7 for both, it is very noticeable, as you can see you beat the estimated training speed by a good margin (i.e. you get a lot of pops you are not supposed to get with just a lvl 6 trainer). It probably has the same effect on the gym, or whatever facility boosts crosstraining.
