You should be aware that if a player plays many minutes, let´s say more than 70 minutes in a week, he gets very tired and it could have a terrible consequences in next game even if he has an high game shape. It happened few times with some players in my team. So I try my rosters don´t play more than 60/65 minutes in a week.

This is absolutely not true.

actually not much in this thread is true, execpt for the two times it was said that it isn't true...

to raise, and afterwards maintain game-shape, there is no specific amount given by the BBs.

I know from experience that between 45 minutes and 75 minutes game shape (almost) always goes to a nice level and stays around that nice level.

But I also had raises with as low as 30 minutes. But also drops with 30 minutes...

To maintain the level I think that if you get out of the 45 - 75 range once, this won't hurt you if you get between 35 and 85 minutes. If this happens week after week your shape is likely to go down, but not a certainty.

Once your players get below 25 minutes or above 95 minutes your shape will drop steadily, the further away from these numebers, the bigger the effect.

Others might feel diffrent numbers are more correct, but I'm sure I'm not far off.

EDIT: and oh! don't think that when I say between 45 and 75 is good that 60 is ideal and has the best effect, no, 45 is just as good as 60 when it comes to game shape, just remember that if you want to train the player, 45 and 48 IS a big diffrence for his training.
I also want to repeat that this is my experience, so no BB-truth.

85 minutes will hurt you pretty often ;) Even conastant play around 70- 75 minutes, ain't really optional.

This is actually false. I am not going to look for it, but 55-60 was stated as ideal from the powers that be. Perhaps it has since changed from season one, but that would be surprising.

you might be right, but I've never seen a BB comment on this and I know I have had players with 55 to 60 minutes who stranded at strong (8), while someone with 46 minutes went from (8) to (9). And this happened more then a few times.
From my players I realy can't draw any line in that whole area, since it seems totally random to me whether they had 45,46 or 47 minutes, or 56,57 or 59 minutes to go to the highest level (9). I also had drops from (9) to (8) more then a few times for players who had 55 to 60 minutes as well...

As for my own team, once a player has reached 40 minutes, and he didn't play in a trainingposition, I will not play him anymore. Would you think I would have this kind of tactic if it would hurt his shape? ;)

from my experience expecially with the national team iw ould go for jbm theory, i usually say that 48-65 minutes was ideal so i got a higher tolerace area for minute manegment but his value was in the middle of mine ...

And yeah gameshape as random elements, you could have look and get higher form with 85minuten thenn 55, but in the most cases the player with 55 minutes has the better gameshape.

well then, I must be a very lucky guy having many players with level 9 shape many times during a season because when I can prevent it my players will never get 55 minutes. In fact I always hate it when they get more then 53, because that means more then 5 minutes wasted in training for an other guy.

On the other hand I must also be very unlucky because often if they do get between 55 and 60, which would be a small area of idealism so we might expect something decent in return if we bring them to that amount, I experienced drops very often, back to level 8...

Maybe there realy is no diffrence between 46 and 57, but many teams have their players play around 55 to 60 minutes each week because they have a few players less on their team. I on the other hand, while not in the B3 tournament often have a few players which I can not give more then 40 minutes because I have a team that has a few players more then the average. So I realy know what I talk about when I talk about 36 to 50 minutes.
On the other hand I know much less about 60 minutes or more, since that is a realy no-go for my team's players.

But by all means, go ahead and have your players play between 55 and 60 minutes each week. I realy don't mind. I'll keep doing what I'm doing and we will both be happy. ;)

Having followed this thread from the start, I think I see a possible answer based on your experiences. Is it possible that the higher your game shape is, the more high minutes will effect your shape? Could the range change for different levels? If so it would make both of you right.

Just a thought

no ;) Because we both go for a long run, not a short period.
