I'm sure there's plenty of options in the Bulgarian third division, when you're twice as strong as the next best team. Not quite the same in more competitive divisions.

Actually, there are no options in the Bulgarian third division. You TIE all the way and then end up with home court through most of the playoffs.

In more competitive leagues, however, there are real options which include real trade-offs. Such as league position for enthusiasm, for example.

First option is always get as many mutual tie's as possible. Everything else is a distant 2nd.

If that defines your idea about tactical planning, I am afraid I can't help you much. But I will let you know how it goes without mutual TIEs when I get to a division that's borderline competitive. Until then, we can agree to disagree, I guess.

When there's very little between a bunch of teams, and there's so much revenue to gain from winning it's inevitable.

My experience from other games we both play in tells me it is absolutely 'evitable' ;) I fail to see why BB should be different.

HT? It's the polar opposite of BB in terms of revenue. There's no financial incentive to promote. I purposely demoted from III to IV cause I could make so much more money in a lower division.

Charles, why u a meanie? :) I fought for that second spot. that means i couldn't afford TIEs. If i was to tie my last games i would've ended on 4th position. why in the world am i playing, if not for #1. my point is that you could reset enthusiasm b4 playoffs. honestly. Think about it... why bother for 1st place in the league otherwise...

anyways, i'm not whining. i'll take the game as it is, and next season i'll finish on 4th. cheers

In the long run, if all the teams are optimizing for maximum performance, no-one will be running much profit in competitive divisions. BB is still young, so top teams are still unable to buy enough 'salaries' to close the gap between division income and team expenses. So expect things to equal out there, given enough time.

FWIW, I've never been worse off financially in HT after a promotion. But that's just me.

That doesnt really help though, cause you'll have to CT just to equal the home court advantage you just gave up for higher enthusiasm.

I didn`t read the whole thread. I have one question. When does the playoffs start? I want to know should I play with my second team today in the last match, so I can play with my first in the playoffs. Or do qualification matches start next weekend? Thanks!

Yes - this weekend is the last regular game and after this the schedule will be drawn up for the playoffs starting Tues. Scrimmage as normal on thurs then new game week will have continuation of playoffs until you are successful or knocked out!
