here in Uruguay many of us didn't want foreing teams.

but, before that, as someone here said: counting all supporters, are we talking an average of 10 foreing teams per country??? and we have all this electronic ink to complain about "saving micronations"??? just because 10 teams/average per nation? c'mon...

let's WAIT to catch the rooster before complaining about how it tastes.

So it looks like second teams going forward with Utopia, that's exciting. I would've preferred being able to choose a country but I like this better than a completely isolated league. I think there will be some issues that need to be worked out which could be an interesting discussion.

How should they handle the time zone issues? If all supporters play in one country that would mean game times are different for people in different time zones. It would be kind of disappointing if I got a second team but had to play games at 3 in the morning.

Will they try to group teams by region? With all second teams in one country there will be language issues in the forums. It would be kind of bummer to get the chance to get a second team in an active league only to find out that no one there speaks the same language as you.

Will Utopia get a National Team? I haven't really gotten that involved with NT stuff but it seems that it is important to a lot of players here. Being able to develop NT players for you're home nation is part of the fun but some people might be upset of a new fairly large nation being created with active and experienced users. The manager base might give Utopia an advantage in national team competitions.

Excited for the new developments and interested to see how things are worked out.

Will Utopia get a National Team?

This is something I've been curious about as well. Will "Utopian" be a new nationality? If not, how will nationalities be determined for new teams, and for drafting?

In my oppinion, Utopia can´t have a National Team, because, it will be the best every season when these second teams can train the players, the supporters are actually the most experienced users... I think, the drafters must be from random countries... or from the user country...

Well, if I understood Marin correctly, drafters in Utopia teams will all be from Utopia, managers from Utopia will only buy players from Utopia(because of farming reasons), and Utopia probably wont have NT team, and also teams from Utopia wont participate in BBB... But again I am not 100% sure about this, Marin still owe us a lot of explanation:D

I thought that completely different server meant that there would be no interactions between Utopia and the rest of BB. The only difference would be that everyone is a Supporter.

This is from Marins post, where he definitely say, that Utopia will be only a country added on this server(probably with restrictions which I mentioned in previous post). Actually, I was also more in favor of idea about new server, but I suppose they decided that it will cost more money, and because of that they decided to go with 99th country... Anyway, I am happy with any decision which will help this game rise, and I believe that this is one of them:)

Until we get the full details from Marin, there isnt much we can talk about, regarding the 99th country itself.

I would like to think that the BB staff will primarily take into consideration, all the possible implications their decision may cause.

For instance, the "instant flooding" of some hundreds of new teams, straight up, could be devastating for the players market.
A market that is severely poor, the last couple of seasons, already.

Anyways, in anticipation of the surprises, Congrats BB, i like the way you handled both the voting results and the opinions expressed in this thread.

Problem here is that the (totally hypothetical) approximative numbers were:
30% for second teams in micronations
15% for an Utopia country within BB
15% for an Utopia server
40% against the second team

Thats what you get, when you start a poll asking the wrong questions.

Step 1 would have been to start a poll asking: Second team yes or no.

Step 2: If step one is "yes", start a poll asking the following:

do you want the second team to play:
1) in a country of your choice
2) in a new country

Result would have been second teams in real nations. Somehow you have chosen to implement the solution with the least amount of people supporting it. Great success!

The mess that the developer is wasting time for is beyond [expletive]. It does not fix the micronation issue (thats why I proposed the second team in the first place) and it will make only half the money as you could have made with second teams in real nations. Peter principle at its best.

So your way, is the worst possible solution one could think of. It makes absolutely no sense, will be just another lame country where the first teams to sign up will stick in DIV I for ages, with the other being the waterboys to run the treadmill.
