Well yeah, it should be reported and I will report him for it, but nothing will be done, as always.

After this I'd say the BBs and staff have stepped even lower than ever before. What's the point of having staff if they are the ones being negative, reacting arrogantly and violently to criticism and if they are not following the rules themselves?

I think we have reached a point, where suggestions aren't even read anymore. Things went bad, when BB-Ryan left the staff, I had the impression, that the communication and the whle atmosphere of the game were at an all time high with him on board. He even engaged in the "honest discussion about censorship"-thread.

I was pretty close calling the staff idiots when the recent changes were announced and I am still extremely pissed off because the timing of the announcement was - in my opinion - pure trolling and malignance. Maybe I only feel like that because it hit me like a freight train and messed up my whole plan for the next few seasons.

All in all, the game is in a very bad state. The rot starts at the top and the beginning was, when BB-Charles went awol and bot, without the other BB or staff noticing it. Maybe Ryan can come back and straighten the ship, I would very much appreciate it.

It's not forbidden as long as you don't break any other rule (release privat information, discuss staff decisions, report a user for cheating...)
In this case the only think you can see is that there was a bb-mail sent, but not the content of it, and it was added to a discussion about if a message was sent or not, so I don't see anything wrong here.

Well, of course you wouldn't. You're a colleague, as it were. By posting the existence of the mail, and by then posting his long winded, self serving exile notice, he leads the casual reader to assume that the mail, and whatever evil thing was in it that he couldn't post, was what led to his exile. And I believe he did this deliberately, because I don't believe he's stupid.

So yes, there's something wrong there.

but not the content of it,
You can see the title which got cut off because it was too long. That is content.

it was added to a discussion about if a message was sent or not,
No it wasn't. I sent Perpete a message so that he could amend what he wrote, so that I wouldn't report him. This message was not spoken of anywhere. Instead of replying to me, like any normal user or not replying at all which was in his right, he posted part of my message on public forums.

I'm 100% sure I would have got a fine for something like this, but please Foto clarify beyond doubt that this is allowed (ie. not in the terms you put it, but in the terms I put it knowing exactly what was written). Thank you.

Note that if you confirm everything Perpete did here is fine it, I will also take messages in the mail and publish it on forums. Since Perpete also had defamatory post and instead of taking back what he said he published part of a private conversation, I assume I can take the liberty of posting messages between me and him, or between me and other members of staff, without necessarily having to reproduce them exactly or giving context provided nothing is being said about staff decisions.

Interesting. I'm used to it being completely forbidden. Thanks for clarifying.

It's your opinion, not mine, although I wouldn't have written that. If he had posted the content of the message or it had a different and more explicit title I would agree with you. My bad that I thought it was an older message, though.
An I repeat, if he had written the content of the message I would have been the first person asking him to remove it, since private conversations can't be released unless both users agree.

It's more a case of common sense from my point of view. If I send you my mobile phone or my personal data it's clear that you can't post that. If we are discussing a fine I could have applied to you or we are talking about a cheating case or a staff decision, you can't post that either, since forum rules don't allow that.

And of course, if the title of a bb-mail is "User XXX is a cheater", it can't be posted either.

The thing is though that many users complain over different things in the game and if nothing is done there is more complaints. But as a change comes to address something a storm of complaints come because of changes being made.
I'm not sure how they should do to keep everyone happy. Do you even think it's possible?

Couple things need to happen.
First, BB needs to determine what sort of game they want. Suggestion below to incorporate the user base.
Second, BB needs to replace their current policies/structure of decision-making and responding to queries. Clearly, something is broken there, and something needs to be changed. Too much pressure is placed on GMs, when it doesn't seem like they have full say/need full buy-in to the changes.
Third, there should be clear communication when there will be changes to either of the above in either the game manual/announcements (too many important things are getting lost in the forums).

BB could develop a survey to see what the users are more inclined to support (ie. how long until new users understand the game - to frame how complex to make the game, how long until new users are competitive - to determine how quick to make training/feasibility of trading, etc.). This survey can help frame the first point, of developing the core goals which determine how the game ought to be developed. If they have the survey filled out by thousands of users, the negativity of two or three posters pushing for changes that are contrary to those core goals can be easily dismissed. Suggestions of changes that meet those goals can be discussed constructively, obviously with potential disagreement as to what the results of changes could be; that's why #2 will be important.
