I just realized that The Officials does not have any trainees and all the eight players are 32-38 yo.
Not sure their long-term strategy but definitely they are playing games strongly.

Buying your opponent's "undefeated" player and give the team a big surprise tonight?
That would be interesting.

Unfortunately, I couldn't be around to bid. Then they injured my other new player 7 minutes in. I guess they weren't too entertained.

Actually, what Eclypze mostly impresses me is not how good Eugene Smith is.
Their net balance from the trading market is "$ 13M", equals to $1M per season.
That is really amazing.

One game to go in the regular season!

Here's what we know:

BIG 8
-Super T Rex have locked up the #1 seed. They'll be banking enthusiasm and sitting on homecourt throughout the playoffs. Will be very difficult to take them down. Good news for them is that if the worst should happen, and they do lose in the playoffs, they still have a punchers chance at promoting anyway with only one loss and a massive PD number.
-New North Star is relegating. Too bad you don't get a shot at a relegation series, because you are better than your record indicates. You just fell into the better conference of a very tough league.
-Thunderhorse and The Officials will be in relegation series. Looking at the other side whichever of these teams grabd the 6 spot should have no trouble sticking around for next season. The 7 has a good chance, but will have to take an away game.

GREAT 8
-While it's not completely certain, CA Foreigners will have the #1 seed. They'd need to lose by a ton to give up the PD tie breaker.
-Playoff matchups in general are set in stone at this point. 1,2,3 and 4 seeds are all locked in.
-EBW is gone. Enjoy that draft pick and see you in D3 soon.
-The Veggies have the 7 seed, and will have a really hard time getting through Thunderhorse or The Officials.

What we don't know yet:
BIG 8
-The 2 seed. Natellio is hosting Chicken Hawks on Saturday, and the winner will have homecourt for the rematch in round 1 of the playoffs. Chicken Hawks made some sales (their ratings have reflected it), so we'll see if they make some purchases for a promotion push prior to the deadline.
-The 4 seed. After a tough injury Eclypze has lost a ton of ground, and Demon Hoosiers are taking advantage. PD will go to Eclypze, so a win Saturday against The Officials will lock down a playoff birth. Demon Hoosiers have some work to do, as they've got Super T Rex.
-The 6 seed. Thunderhorse has the tie breaker and an easier game, but you never know...

GREAT 8
-The 5 seed. East Gary Eagles have the tie breaker, and a home game against The Veggies, so they've got the inside track to safety.

POWER RANKINGS
1. Super T Rex, 27.738
2. Natellio, 20.013

Thank you again for the nice post.

I am not sure if you guys aware of one thing.
BB announced that the game engine will be modified to reduce the strength of the unbalanced inside attack tactics. Although the new game engine supposes to be used in scrimmages only, I found that my new reinforcement, (8883587), had 10 blocks in the previous two games (and my team made 29 blocks in total!). Originally I thought it was the game shape issue. However, the Officials' bigs seemed not have this problem and my bigs are not in their best shapes as well. If the increased block rate is not an "accident", I think those LI teams might want to change their tactics soon......

A couple things about the new game engine...

Yes, from all accounts it should only be implemented in scrimmages and PLs, so those block performances should not reflect a change in the GE. I'd be interested to see where those blocks game from as well - their bigs? guard's drives? defending outside? I'd also be interested to know your new guy's SB rating, and compare that to IS of who you were going against (it looks like one game was against Smedlock's trainee, which could explain some of it).

I've actually had better performance in my PL (with the new GE) with my LI offense than in this league. It's my opinion that while the change to make shot blocking more important will eventually even out the LI dominance, it may take a little while. If shot blocking becomes more important in defending the inside game, it could make a LI offense even more successful if the defender's shot blocking skill isn't very good. For example, if a 15 IS goes up against a 6 SB, what do you think will happen? There are countless bigs who have ignored shot blocking altogether, so until their SB catches up, you may see LI be just as dominant in certain matchups.

What I think the change does more is make it more difficult to create LI monsters, which will even the playing field. It's been too easy to focus on only IS, ID, and REB for a successful big, while successful guards need OD, PA, HDN, DRI, and JS/JR if you're running an outside offense. The addition to SB in the training plans will slow the rate of IS being trained, thus making it less dominant.

Just my opinion.

Sorry to randomly butt in here, but I'm nearly 100% certain that the new GE is only running in scrimmages, not PLs

(which of course, doesn't make a lot of sense, given that scrimmages all sorts of weird players and matchups are happening)
