Of course it can be changed or let's say, it could be changed. But apparently everybody else but you think that the current method is a better one.

Amen.

The longer the game evolves, the better the height factor in training will be visible. Almost all the best centers in BB will be big guys.
Sure, there will be some smaller players who 'll have a great rebounding stat, but they won't reach the ultimate BB-top in the long run.
A bit of patience and you should be fine.

that is not a reason why it cant be changed.

Sure, it could be changed, but there doesnt appear much reason to do so. You said Wallace and Rodman are rarities. In the NBBA, 8/10 of the top rebounders are 6'10" or greater. The other two are (like wallace/rodman), 6'7".

Top division to top division compare really well. Nothing to change here IMO.

Btw, I don't think there is any reason to be concerned about tall players that don't take enough rebounds.

Quick check:

top rebounders of your league:
6'11" / 7'0" / 6'11" / 6'7" / 6'11" / 7'1" / 7'1" / 6'8" / 7'3" / 6'11"

They seem to be tall enough according to me.
I admit there's a 6'7" and a 6'8". But that's just 2/10 and they will be training slower then the others.
This game is still young, season 5 just started...

Many High School teams don't have real big men, many College teams have big men no taller than 6'8 and have offenses that BB has to take advantage of small lineups.

You must think 3 dimensional not 2 just be smart with what you have and train right. we don't know how many seasons it too to make those little guys rebounding beasts.

Besides there are way too many 7 footers anyway.

That is what is not real. There should be a numerical premium when it comes to big guys.......... true big guys.

When I was is HS the center was 6'4, the game plan on offense was to run, run, run and gun, and 5 on the boards. We won more than we lost, finished second in the league and got to the quarter finals.

In many ways RL experience can help here.

For heavens sake just adapt.

Out of curiosity:

Brasilian Top League Top10 rebounders this season (in order):
7'1" / 7'3" / 7'0" / 7'1" / 7'2" / 6'11" / 6'10" / 7'5" / 7'2" / 6'9"

seems tall enough to me

perhaps too tall

maybe we should change that too

It was long to get to here... really long thread.

What Kantine says is the key, the game is still too young so we can find many strange things such as a NT player on a IV division. With time all this players will become unaffordable for low divisions teams due to their salaries.

The same with height. The way it affects to the training is the way BB has chosen to simulate the reality. When the game become older, most of the centers playing in the first divisions will be tall, and probably very few small players will be able to compete with them for rebound.

Of course it could be changed, but any other way to simulate the height effect will also have side-effects. In this games you have to simulate the reality with only a few parameters, therefore it will never be perfect.

But saying "it should be changed" does not help at all, because we all agree with that. Question is how to do it.
