I kind of misunderstood the purpose of voting, I thought you proposed clearly and definitely (I belive this can be deduced from the original post) the idea of having a second team for supporters in the country other than the primary team's, and the voting was organized as a kind of a referendum to see whether this idea should be implemented and how. At the end, howewer, you dropped the original idea and substituted it with one of the ideas that originated during the debate, but nevertheless you used the results of the voting cast on the topic of the original idea to legitimize that new idea, although in fact that voting shows the attitude of the community just on the original idea, not on the new one. This fact, that you basically used the voting just as rough guidelines on the users' sentiments and not as the modality of decision making, somehow stripped you of your original purpose, of involving community in decision-making process, since you reached the decision on your own and not by following the voting results. I am not saying this is bad, especially bearing in mind this Utopia project is of no concern for any user not involved directly with it, but I believe in future you should state more clearly what is the true purpose of voting.

i think the BB was very clear. here, let's take a look:

"Here are some POSIBBLE specifications of the secondary team idea, in the form of some restrictions and rules. In all aspects other than the ones mentioned bellow, the secondary team would behave as a completely new team. Also, the link between the primary and secondary team would be clearly and publicly visible. If you have any objections or possible better solutions, we welcome your replies."

and the question to vote was this:

"Should BB develop the second team for Supporters feature (EVEN IF I DON'T AGREE WITH ALL THE SPECIFICATIONS STATED IN THIS POST)?"

So... I think it was clear that this was not cooked from the beginning. You can't tell now that you didn't know what you were voting. You were voting second team or not, not the logistic of it.

But at the end, I am starting to think that the whole idea of the poll has brought more negative than positive effects... it would have been better if BBs took the decision on their own. Now what we have is a highly fragmented BB community, with several groups differing with each other: first supporters vs. non-supporters mainly... now it's becoming even more fragmented.

I agree. It was poorly handled. If they had just announced that they were making a new utopia league for supporters I would have been like "okay, that's cool".
But, they had a poll that listed something totally different and now I'm just disappointed. Not mad, but disappointed in how things are being handled (along with GDP) and losing interest.

What don't you like about the GDP? Would you have preferred a poll on whether it should be implemented?... No of course you wouldn't because then you would be complaining more about it. BB just cannot win with some people. just to clarify, although this message was sent to you, this is more of a general message to everyone. People get upset about how BB handles things regardless of how they go about it. Many people didn't like it when the GDP and tax exemption was added to the game without a huge discussion about it and now many people are complaining that BB tried to discuss the addition of something. I'm not saying that they handled this the best way they could of, I'm just pointing out that people will complain regardless of how they implement something new. As many other people have said, I'm going to wait until the details come out on the 2nd team aspect before I set my opinion in stone on it.

Well, I gotta say that BB is doing a great job in my opinion, the overtaxation was in my opinion an excelent idea, and his having great success avoiding the tanking and then a super team, and the GDP avoiding play inside the whole season with no changes.
And now, I really think they are going the right way with this utopia server. I think the best thing BB could give me this moment is a "server reset". I know the game well already, and want an opurtunity to start a game at the same level as the other users...and if they give me that, it would be awsome!

I don't like the GDP for different reasons that were beaten to death in the thread about it. Don't want to turn this into a GDP thread (I know, I brought it up).
I certainly wouldn't have wanted a poll for the same reason I think this poll failed and I agree that you can't win with some people, which is how I felt about this poll. I don't hate the utopia thing, I just think this was poorly executed and that's where I'm disappointed. I'm not a big complainer. I think the intentions were good and I do appreciate the desire to get input from the user base (even if disagreeing will get you branded as someone looking for something to complain about).
Like you said, you can't please everyone and I think having a poll where you outline the possible rules for one thing, then turn around and do something else causes more harm than good.
I do like the tax exemption change. So I'm not totally evil.

No. This is a wrong idea. Important matches are played still with inside tactics, or better, inside tactics are still more efficient than perimetral, despite GDP. I have doubts about GDP balancement (probably is stronger for some kinds of tactic than others) but GDP still doesn't represent solution, because what BB needs is to have two teams, with similar salary amount, team one well builded from inner tactics and team two for perimetral, which are at same level. Not a "predictor" for trying to equilibrate.
Be clear, at least it's a new thing.
OT, imho, despite i'm one of the 0,001% who's paying, it's a good thing.

Coming back on topic.
ok, we drops 600 users from today's bot batch than yesterday's userlevel, and we lost 1% of users in balance (we started last monday with 30k) after 2 weeks of stable userbase. (just to report it).

for the 2nd team, focus is "to have" more supporters, or am i wrong?
Has BB-Marin (and who suggested or helped him to take decision) that more supporter (it's simply a numerical issue) should came from more populed nations?
And, after the "big increase" when Supporterland (after Marin's announce, Utopia became a little obsolete) will be open, may drop in about 1/2 season due of competition or, the "other face of the medal",only brave remain in div X trying to promote, and other one will stop using the 2nd team option?
And, another consideration: will supporter price remain the same when you introduce 2nd teams?
