As to why soccer will never be a major pro sport in the US
Just to clarify, soccer doesn't need to surpass any of the top 4 or 5 (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey..Nascar?) to afford to support rosters that cost on par with the stronger european leagues. All MLS needs to do is continue their slow but steady model and win over the already existing soccer fans in the country. I don't care what it takes for MLS to be considered "major" in the US market, as the competition for players is global. Patience, the top 4 in the US weren't in great financial shape at year 15 either.
Now, do we have to conclude that americans have shorter attention spans than the rest of the world ?
