Pio Reina: Gentlemen, I know we’re working on some things. I understand it won’t always be pretty. I’m looking at our offense and I love the ball movement we got tonight. I want to give credit to our point forwards Carlos Frias and Antti Reinholm, to the Walts; Walt C. did his thing and Walt P. was cooking on offense. Big Ozver, are you serious? 20 points in 19 minutes. The steals and forcing turnovers all looks nice. But what I want to know is how in the bloody blue blazes this team, coached by me, let that team, the worst team in the league, shoot nearly 50% from the field, 42% from deep, and score the second highest amount we’ve allowed in league play this season. I do not understand this. I have consistently told you if you want to play fast there are things we have to do. Playing defense is one of those things. We did not do that tonight, and I will not tolerate this. I will not have this.

118 points to that team. Not a good team. The worst team in the league. The absolute and undeniable worst team in the league. Like I said earlier, I know we’re working on some things. I understand it won’t always be pretty. The playoffs are right around the corner. The number one seed just dropped the number two seed. That means if we can find a way to over take them, we can play a home playoff game. We cannot do that if you play defense like this. We will not do that if we play defense like this. If we continue letting teams score at will like the worst team in the league just did, we will not deserve a home playoff game, or any playoff game at all. If I see this kind of defensive performance again… I just better not. I better not see this kind of defensive performance again. Coming in here acting like ya’ll done something. You just got lit up by the worst team in the league, that’s what you‘ve done.

You know what they did last time we played them? I do. They shot 37% from the field and 28% from deep and only scored 86 points. In their own house. We did that to them. I don’t care that we won tonight. They came here and punked you. They spit on your defense. They spit on your defense in your house in front of your wives and kids. You can’t make them pay for it; they got away with it. They probably won’t be here next season, but you will and the other playoff teams will, and they will all remember when the worst team in the league came to our house and punked our defense and spit on the floor and disrespected us in front of our wives and kids and you lazy, no good bass astards did nothing about it, and they will try to do it to you as well.

Embarrassing. You all should be embarrassed. You should be embarrassed and ashamed. You guys need to get things figured out. Defense is non negotiable. You can't win if you don't play defense. A good team would have slaughtered ya'll.

I said it once before, I'll say it again...

Andersonville vs Duke. Andersonville wins, they end Duke's shot at a playoff spot. Duke wins, they still have a shot. This one is gonna be a slufgest. If you like the sort of fight where you wait for a referee to mercifully end it; I'm sure Andersonville will get tired of punching Duke in the face repeatedly. Expect to see some kicks, body slams, an elbow drop or two, and possibly something off the top rope. In the first half.

In the first matchup, Duke got pummelled by 70 on the road. They were losing by 25 at the half, but any hope they had of comeback was stomped into the ground in the third quarter when Andersonville beat the brakes off of them 48-14. They never had a chance in that one.

In no way do I see Duke returning the favor. Even if alligators like to play with their food, what does that mean? They let Duke hang around within 20 or 30?

This is gonna be a mercy killing. Andersonville will put this away early to extinguish any hope Duke might think about having.

Why?

Because they expect to pick up a game after we play Organization XIII. They expect us to lose.

Let me keep this real: I don't believe they expect to catch us, it's just that hope is a powerful drug. We also don't expect them to catch us, because we expect to beat Duke again before we dispatch Andersonville to end the regular season. But hope IS a powerful drug, and if they have any prayer of catching us, that means they have to win out and we have to lose out.

Now, we here at Linndale expect to win every game (except when we don't), but there is no way in this or any ubiverse where we lose a) three in a row to end this season and b) lose to Duke at HOME. No. Not gonna happen. No way, no how.

We have pride. Plus, I hate all things Duke (and Duke adjacent). Grant Hill excepted, of course. Grant is a gentleman, a scholar, a saint, and proof that I can say one nice thing about Duke.

Now where was I? Oh yes; Duke stinks, we'll beat Andersonville again, Andersonville will beat Duke again, and that's that.

I said what I said. Where's the lie?
