Which is going to lead to a problem when one team saves for 4 seasons and then uses a monstrous roster in B3. Also other small countrie's managers may do this too, which will make it nearly impossible for big country teams to stay in D1 and have a chance at winning B3. I don't know how this can be fixed, but I think it will be a future problem for buzzerbeater.

congrats :)))

PersianGulf is our formerly great (like SG) and we respect him very much.
I wonder what that guys say who won previous B3 champions who left the game or rebuilt their teams :))))

anyway, here we are talking about VS not PersianGulf, Masoud (manager of PersianGulf) is not decided to win the B3 or compete in any tour :)) please take a lo0k at his schedule and you will find that you are one of tens who won him this season :)))

Finally, we are not shouting a win or some here, we just try to make more fun and show our sincerity. also I'm happy because of your happiness although you won a Persian team :)
I hope you make another win and have a go0d luck in your way ;)

Ha - ok I will rise to one of your comments.

I didn't have to re-build my team - my tanking was out of choice and boredom. I always rotated out my 25/26 yo for better 23/24yo and right now I can sustain my roster to keep me 'great' for as long as I wish to be.

Trouble is.. I just don't wish to be. The game is great and the community and other managers are too but I've invested a lot of time into this over the seasons and I've just reached a point now where the spark is dying for me.

I know I am not strong enough to come close this season without going kamikaze but like all the rosters I've ever managed, my best players can still be trained. Not that I've checked but I'd be interested to learn the average age of the winning BB3 starting 5 in previous seasons (who wants to do this?!)

So I can sit back, improve my PG, 2xSF's, PF, C and without investing be stronger next season with enough cash in the bank to challenge again.

Maybe VS can too but training FT and ST for the next season on 28yo's can't be that fun and sooner or later he'll run out of cash where as I won't :D

So BB3 Final Season 10 - I don't think any of my guys were older than 24...
(and I benched my best guy too :D)

Damn that was a long time ago and the same time again was needed to climb above JBM!

I didn't point you at all guy :) I meant teams like "BC Törööö" and "BK TUKUMS" and so...

So I can sit back, improve my PG, 2xSF's, PF, C and without investing be stronger next season with enough cash in the bank to challenge again.

True!
I personally prefer this method, also I am doing somehow like this in league.

Maybe VS can too but training FT and ST for the next season on 28yo's can't be that fun and sooner or later he'll run out of cash where as I won't :D

I told Misagh to0, but he has his own opinion. anyway I believe in him and know he knows what he is doing :)

Yeah, well, uhmm.

The thing I'm worried about is that when you look at B3 developments from season 14 and on, you start to see that the more important aspect in the more important club competition is not something related to basketball but money, in a more specific fashion, saving money.

In season 14 we had this country-buying-to-his-club-in-B3 war which ended with the discussion about how teams could simply buy a monster in order to win a competition played for the whole season. The result was the new B3 system.

In season 15 we saw how the new system was able to prevent the "legendary trick". Despite the fact that the discussion was dominated by the legitimacy talk about the wild card they were others who where looking another fact: The B3 winner was the second most expensive team in competition.

In season 16 we are making fun and throwing some "challenges" in order to avoid something not so fun: the fact that everybody thinks VS is going to win this season. Now, I don't have any problems with it but it somehow bothers me that he's probably going to win it not because he's a very good manager(which, he might be anyway) but because he simply bought a monster team that no one can stop.
And we see some old managers saying that the only way to be a competition for him is to go kamikaze buying another monster team. This might be fun but it also might not be so fun.

The question I want to raise is what do we expect from the B3 competition? Do we want it to be a competition in which you have to save money for many seasons loosing the opportunity the compete for something in a big country, or explode the fact that in a small country you can have a 200k team and win everything while saving 500k per week so you can later buy the B3?

I don't know guys. For me this set of rules are kind of bored, the only way to win is to save for decades in order to(hopefully) face other teams who have been saving for decades. Savings happening in very different conditions related to big vs small country dynamics must be said.

I wanted the B3 to be arena for the most skilled players where they could face each other in order to have a true champion. A competition where the ability to understand the GE, make a good long-term roster development strategy, making good investments securing key players for your strategy, and reading your opponent to win the battle of tactics could led you the championship. Not just saving money. Or not just having the saving money feature as the most important key(I do think that in order to win B3 you should have a good long-term plan but also suffer some short-term difficulties).

Am I the only one who's concerned by these things?

I agree with almost whole your message, but to be fair I have to comment this statement.
I had second most expensive wage bill but followed by the others with very small gap, whilst gap to first one was over 300k. I haven't saved money for several seasons, I was B3 semifinalist season 14. I haven't ruined my team and I'm ready to go into knockout phase season 16 again ...

I'm not judging you or questioning your quality as manager. I just made a statement of a fact, you can add others perspectives as well but that will not change the fact you were the second most expensive team in knockout phase, followed by close for the 3rd and not so close from the 4th. We could start looking at how you pulled the money needed to maintain your team(probably saving), talking about salaries in your division and his competitive dynamic, etc. But I guess we would miss the point.

This is a discussion about limits and what do we want for the B3 to be. I guess everybody agrees that it's ok to bring reinforcements to try to win the competition, and that's is not terrible to see a team loosing money everyweek pushing his finances in order to compete for the greatest club title. What I think many don't want to see is bringing entire teams as reinforcements with tremendous payrolls who can only be sustained by a lot of saving or a lot of time(and talent) dedicated to buy cheap, sell expensive(any other legal way to make a lot of money in B3? Success doesn't pay that much). All those strategies should help to get better players, but they shouldn't be the hearth of B3. I believe that with a 900k roster things could have been very different for you last season(or maybe not!).

But then again, this is not a conversation about you or last season B3, this a conversation about what B3 is starting to look like(or is already looking?) and if that is what we want for it to be.

You have just described the problem. Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

Salary cap at the start of the knockout phase. If you're over, you default.
Needs to be set around 1-1.2mil though, to balance out various strategies.
